The Anambra governorship aspirant from the Southern part of the state, has stressed the need for the public to be vigilant.
APGA guber frontline, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo made the call yesterday at the Capital City Media hangout, in Awka.
In his speech, Nwankpo said people should be extra vigilant especially now that the country is battling with insurgency, noting that every body must be involved in the security of the community.
”The Anambra neighborhood watch, vigilantes in various communities should assist the police in the war against terrorism, and wage the bandits bloody incursions into the state. We need to continue to support, and recognize the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in keeping the state safe over the years. Let’s rally round the governor in collaboration, to protect the state from the aliens invading our communities.” he said
He expressed optimism that the state will overcome the challenge of insecurity if all hands are on deck to nip the menace in the bud. He, however, commiserated with the Governor, Nigerian Bar Association, and ndi Omor of Ayamelum local government Area over the death of Barrister Francis Onwuachu, who was reportedly kidnapped by suspected herdsmen and killed. Until his death, Barr.Onwuachu was the Chairman of the Onitsha Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and President General of Omor, a community in Ayamelum Local Government Area.
Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, former aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan was hosted and honoured as the Awka Capital City media’s grand patron in recognition of his support and profound contribution to the development of Capital City Online Media community at the hangout.
