A Yet to be identified gunmen have attacked the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Prof. Charles Soludo at Isuofia community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State
According to reports, Soludo was having an interactive session with the youths in his community when the gunmen stormed the venue shooting sporadically in the air.
Three police officers were allegedly shot dead while the whereabouts of the former CBN governor is unknown as at the time of filling this report .
When contacted, the
state police command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident but said he was still gathering information about the unfortunate incident.
Professor Soludo is one of the leading contestants in the Anambra governorship election scheduled to hold on 6th of November, 2021.
He is of the state ruling party aspirant,All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), in whose aspiration many are hoping will succeed the incumbent Governor, Willie Obiano, who will complete his tenure by March 17,2022.
