The All Progressives Congress ,has enjoined its members and various supporting groups to avoid comments capable of heating up the polity.
The Secretary of the party in Anambra state , Comrade Chukwuma Agufugo gave the advice while addressing APC Ambassadors group at the party office in Awka , the state capital.
APC Ambassadors are group of positive men and women including youths from the twenty on the local government areas of the state who came together to form alliance with the aim of door to door campaign and sensitization of the people, on the need to allow the party produce the next governor of Anambra state .
According to him, the leadership of the party in the state will support the Ambassadors to achieve their goals and called on them to always make their activities known to the executives in other to be carried along.
The Coordinator of the APC Ambassadors, Comrade Moses Afum while adressing members drawn from the twenty one local government areas , said the political group was duly registered and recognized by the national Secretariat of the party.
Comrade Afum Said their aim was to galvanize support and membership for the party with a view of winning the governorship election coming up in Anambra by November 6th.
" we have strong plans already on ground to wrestle power from the incumbent party in the state , we want someone who is conversant with the grassroots, a governor who will provide basic and social amenities to the people. APC Ambassadors will do assessment of all the aspirants and take a stand with the best that will carry the party flag for the election and eventually win in November 2021.
Our aim is to ensure that the party produce the next governor of the state.
We are not depending on any aspirant as all of them have our support and prayers till one person emerges as the flag bearer .
We are rooting for credible candidate that will carry the people along and provide basic amenities for the people. We will continue to respect the rules of the party and will support whoever that emerges the winner of the primary election"
Also speaking , the spokesperson of the group, Comrade John Dunu said the. Group will embark on door to door sensitization and campaign to make the people understand the chances they stand to get if APC government takes over Anambra state.
He stated that contrary to speculations by rival parties, the APC is not a Northern party, but has the interest of the entire nation at heart irrespective of zone or geographical locations.
Comrade Dunu said the meeting has helped the members to air their views and identify lapses which they all agreed on way forward for the overall interest of the party.
He regretted that successive politicians had deceived the people with promises of water and electricity without fulfilling any and called on the people to be steadfast and lookout for a leader who will guarantee health, education and employment for the teeming youths." Some of the people always lookout for what they will get immediately without considering the future which is paramount please be accountable and canvass for votes in your wards".
Some of the members of the APC Ambassadors Group bared their minds on past experiences they had and noted that if well resolved, the All Progressives Congress no doubt will win the governorship race in Anambra state .
Mr Frances Maduka from Nimo, Njikoka local government area complained of lack of funding especially during elections and also regretted that some people keep siphoning the available funds made for the officials and agents at various wards.
Mr chinedu obiakor , from Ward three Abagana noted that the party always use stakeholders rather than ward agents who are on ground at each community whenever the need be.
Emmanuel okoye from Amanuke Ward , Awka north local government area and Mr Chinedu from Ekwusigo called on the party leaders to support those at the grassroots with proper funding for logistics during electioneering.
The APC Ambassadors matched from the Party secretariat, Glass House Amaenyi down to Aroma while sensitizing the populace on the gains in registering at their various politics Wards in other to let the party win the November election and connect the state to the national politics proper.
