The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru has died in an air crash today while on an official trip to Kaduna.

The air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred Friday evening near the Kaduna International Airport.
In a Statement by the Air Commodore Rward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information stated that the Ill-fated air crash happened at the Kaduna airport runway .
The chief of Army Staff was on an official assignment to witness cadet passing out tomorrow, at the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna.
The incident occured at about 6pm Friday evening, because of heavy rain at the airport
The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained.
