I'll make Anambra film industry hub... Agbasimelo



Nollywood actors, others witness campaign take off


Awka, Aug.16, 2021: Mr Obiora Agbasimelo, candidate of the Labour Party in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra has promised to make the statebhub of film industry if electe.


Agbasimelo popularly known as'Oga Ndi Oga' by his supporters in the state made the promise during his governorship campaign flag off at the weekend in Awka.


The event attended by hundreds of Labour Party supporters was equally witnessed by many Nollywood actors.



Among the actors sighted at the event were President of Nollywood actors; Chiwetalu Agu, Destiny Etiko, Chinyere Wilfred, Nkechi Nweje, Steve Eboh, Chidi Ihezie Okafor, Chinedu Ikedieze, Mc Smith Ochendo, and Uju Okoli amongst others.


Agbasimelo who addressed his audience announced the take off of multi millionaira interest free loan for traders, artisans, small and medium scale business owners in the state.


He also said that he would ensure that widows and the elderly are adequately taken care of in the state.


Agbasimelo who is the president of Oga Ndi Oga Foundation and hail from Nnewi South council  area of the state, said a lot of people have been touched through his charity group in the state and beyond.


He said that God has already blessed him, adding that my interest in the governorship is to uplift more downtrodden in the society.


Agbasimelo called on the people of the state especially those with voting powers to support his candidature.


"Anambra state will be a hub for film industry if I become the governor and i will ensure that I address the plights of more downtrodden in the society", he said.


Aside from empowering scores of women and youths, Agbasimelo has constructed community roads, awarded scholarships to students and trained and equip many on vocational skills in the state.


He has also paid medical bills for several Nigerians with critical health issues, as well as initiated poverty alleviation programmes that addressed the plights of widows and poor families among others.
