Thirty students and one teacher of the Federal Government College Birnin Yauri abducted by suspected bandits in June 2021, have regained freedom from their abductors.
The is revealed by Kebbi state government in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to Kebbi state Governor, Yahaya Sarki and made available to journalists.
Mr. Sarki said Today, Saturday 8th January 2022, 30 students of Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri and one teacher have arrived Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital following their release.
He said the released victims shall undergo medical screening and support while being re-united with their families.
In October 2021, a set of thirty students of the school abducted in June 2021 were released by their abductors and are brought to Birnin Kebbi to be reunited with their families.
He said this is in addition to some of the victims that were earlier released to their parents by the abductors.
Mr. Sarki said, Kebbi state government appreciate the efforts of all security agencies and all those that have helped in securing the release of the victims
He said the people and government of Kebbi state also congratulate President, Muhammadu Buhari for the success.
