The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Anambra State Chapter, led by Amb. Surv. Obi Emeka has released a list 220 Community Liaison Officers, CLOs, appointed to facilitate the programs of the organization at the grassroot.
The inauguration which was held in Awka was witnessed by all the affiliate youth bodies of the council from various communities in Anambra State.
The event was also graced by other stakeholders including the pioneer Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comr. Obunikem Asuzu, President, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Anambra State, Chief Emeka Udodeme, who chaired the occasion of inauguration/ leadership training retreat for the newly appointed CLOs, State Executives members, State Directors, Local Government Coordinators and other dignitaries.
The appointed CLOs are to report directly to the Office of the State Chairman of the NYCN Anambra State Council, Surveyor Obi Emeka Chukwudi.
In his speech, the Anambra NYCN Chairman explained that the structure is to drive the utmost commitment and determination of his leadership to take NYCN activities to the doorstep of every community.
Surveyor Obi Emeka restated that all council programs are purely grassroots-based, and expressed appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his youth development agenda in the state.
According to him, the appointment signposts the State Council’s cooperation in facilitating and activating Mr. Governor's agenda for the youths down to the grassroot for effective involvement and implementation.
He said; “The CLOs are to liaise closely with the Zonal, State LGA coordinators and other constituted arms of the NYCN.
“By law, it is only NYCN that government can use to implement its policies and programmes in every state, LGA and community.
“Anambra NYCN under my watch is committed to taking every youths development programme to the grassroots just as we have done with the ICT initiative.
“There is also the Football tournament tagged the 'Kings Cup' which will feature both football and volleyball for both male and female categories.
“We also have coming up, our initiative aimed at promoting youths participation in Agriculture backed by government, its relevant agencies and private individuals.
“All these are grassroots-centric and we want to have that synergy at the community level to successfully drive these initiatives and achieve the optimal goal.”
