“For me, it is an honour to be able to contribute my quota to what is happening in Anambra State. I have followed the programmes of the NYCN and I feel I could use this little token to support their efforts aimed at gainfully empowering the youths.

”I wish to encourage the present leadership of the Council to continue doing what it is doing. Together, we will, through empowerment, ensure that our youths are gainfully engaged and as such, find no delight in crime and criminality,” he said.

Receiving the items, the Anambra State NYCN Chairman, Surveyor Obi explained that the Council had reached out to the real estate doyen, as part of its strategies to garner support from critical stakeholders, to change the fortunes of Anambra youths.

Obi, who expressed appreciation to Chief Okoli for his benevolence, said he had by the gesture, demonstrated genuine commitment to seeing Anambra youths fare better.

“This is the kind of strategic partnership we at the State NYCN Council crave for. The task of building the youths must not be left for government alone.

“This programme is borne out of our commitment to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal on the poorest of the youths, especially those in the rural communities of Anambra State.

“It is most heartwarming to see that people like the MD/CEO of Graceland Real Estate Company is heeding our call for assistance to secure the best bargain for Anambra youths,” he said.

Obi, while assuring that the items and cash will be appropriately deployed to the youths who need them, expressed the hope that they open new stream of income and means of livelihood for the beneficiaries.

The Anambra NYCN boss called on other hi-networth individuals and groups in the state, to borrow a leaf from Chief Okoli and support initiatives by the Council, aimed at empowering the youths.

He said, “This is a clarion call to all captains of industries, business owners, groups, and other stakeholders to lend a helping hand in the efforts to get our youths busy with gainful ventures.

”You can assist by providing trainings, empowering them with skills and equipment like we saw today, providing seed capital for young entrepreneurs and so on.

”The idea is to get everyone to do their part, as government continues to do its best,” he concluded.

Highpoint of the meeting was the presentation of the items and cash to the NYCN leadership.
