In accordance with her mission and vision statement, Kaycoune Success Empowerment Initiative (KSEI) has collaborated with its sister agency, Lifted Hands Organization (LHO) to meet the health needs of Akwaeze people in Aniocha local government and its environs by giving them free medical care at St. George's Anglican Church field Akwaeze.
The Non Governmental Organization (NGO), said it has been into free medical missions since its inception in 2018 and aimed at creating various platforms to empower widows and to channel the youths toward embracing inventions and innovations.
In her speech, the Founder, KSEI, Nchedo Catherine Mbamalu-Chukwu, who was represented by Ngozi Ugochukwu said that the essence of the free medical outreach was to sensitise people on the need for health check ups, to conduct an on the spot check of health status of the villagers and to treat the ailing ones.
Mbamalu-Chukwu said that they have previously conducted free medical outreaches in many places, including Awka and Onitsha.
She said that in course of the outreaches, they have discovered by statistics that high blood pressure and hyperglycemia are quite prevailing among the community dwellers and in ignorance they give deaf ears to the warning signs.
Mr. Ifunanya Mbamalu, one of the KSEI Directors, said that the reasons for the event were to lend a helping hand to people in medical need, give widows palliatives to alleviate their suffering and also to look out for people with special talents, helping them to develop their potentials to be useful to the society.
The representative of Lifted Hands Organization (LHO) Mrs. Ngozi Clement-Udokwu, who is also a nurse said that they have been doing free medical outreaches for over 15 years as an annual event in Ogidi and its environs.
She said that the founder of Lifted Hands Organization, Engr. Moses Okaro, created the initiative to help the less privileged in the society who may be sick amid having other needs without having the finance for medical care.
Mrs. Clement-Udokwu said that during their annual outreaches, they also feed people, give out parliatives and clothings to meet various degrees of the people's needs.
"Engr. Moses Okaro does all these as his contribution to the society and also to put smiles on the faces of people," She said.
She said that Lifted Hands Organization came to Akwaeze to partner with Kaycoune SEI to render service to humanity, enjoining the public to always visit the hospital and avail themselves the opportunity of free medical services for medical check-ups to enjoy good health and better life.
In appreciation, Mrs. Chinenye Amako, a young window who benefited from the free medical services and widows palliiative praised the organisers of the event for remembering them in such a critical time and prayed for more opportunities.
Mr. Ndubisi Ibeh who was also a beneficiary expressed his happiness for the free medical services, saying that health is first thing in life.
