A Sports Administrator, Ebere Amaraizu, says he has finalised arrangement to float a new football club within Aba axis of Abia.
Amaraizu, who was the former Team Manager of Crime Busters FC, Enugu, told newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday that the new football would be known as Aba United Football Club.
He said the registration of the Aba United FC, also known as Umu-Aba, with the Nationwide League One (NLO) is about being concluded, adding that the club would feature in NLO next season.
"Aba United FC (Umu-Aba) of Enyimba City is setting a new direction for our young, talented and skilful football lads.
"Umu-Aba is not just a football club but a source of alternative meaningful pathways against engaging in crime and criminality.
"The team will offer life changing experience and opportunities to youths within Aba and its environs especially those at the risk of joining membership of unlawful societies and organized criminal groups," he said.
Amaraizu, a former Director of NLO in-charge of South-East activities, said that another intention at floating Aba United FC was for it to act as a community football team meant to turn out young football talents into national and international Assets.
"This the football team will do by exposing them to Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect as well as engaging the young talents in continuous football activities and competitions within and outside the country," he said.
Amaraizu, who is currently the Technical Director of the club, said that he was optimistic that the club would gain elevation from NLO league to the Nigeria National League (NNL) in no distance time.
"I believe in no distace time the club exploits we be the talk of football lovers in Nigeria as we are going to put in hard work, industry, resilience and dynamism in the team to sharpen the raw and budding talents limelight.
"We are current scouting and recruiting exceptionally talented young football players within Aba and its environs into the team," he added.
