The Anambra State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN has hailed the uncommon exploits of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa, in the administration of the affairs of the party, describing him as a true ambassador of the youths.
The State NYCN Chairman, Ambassador Surveyor Obi Emeka Chukwudi made the commendation in a statement in Awka, where he said Barr Ezeokenwa was redefining political leadership, to reflect its true intents and purposes.
Surveyor Obi said the present APGA leadership under Barr Ezeokenwa has been able to manage the party’s affairs, reconciling varying interests and ensuring that members with genuine grievances are duly assuaged.
This he noted, has set the party on a united course in the pursuit of its mandates and vision.
The Anambra NYCN boss said the state council has critically observed the disposition of the APGA National Chairman towards socio-political developments across Nigeria and found him to be a true progressive in words and actions.
“When Barr Ezeokenwa came on board as the National Chairman of APGA, people like us who know his capacity and capabilities, understood that APGA was on course towards breaking new grounds.
“Less than two years down the line, that optimism we expressed, has been justified, evident in the effective manner he has administered the affairs of the party.
“He has toured the various states, entrenching structures and strategies to advance the course of the party. This is something only a youth can accomplish, considering the rigours and challenges such movements pose.
“Ezeokenwa has also shown by his disposition, that while politics is a game of interests, it must be played without rancour and bitterness.
“His understanding of the dynamics of politics and its implications for a country like ours has always kept him on the right footing as a political leader and we the youths are proud of him.
“It goes to say that as a political party, APGA under Barr Ezeokenwa is living out the true meaning of its creed- ‘Onye aghana nwanne ya’ which means ‘Be Your Brother’s Keeper.’
“We have also noticed the sudden disappearance of rancour and strife from the ranks of the party and this is due to Ezeokenwa’s leadership prowess,” Obi noted.
Comrade Obi further posited that the APGA National Chairman has once again, shown that youths are capable of manning leadership positions with greater efficiency and without any form of scandal.
He hoped that with Ezeokenwa’s exemplary record, more political parties in the country would begin to build the confidence to confer leadership authority to more youths, urging Nigerian youths to emulate him.
“This is the kind of model we want our youths to emulate. From a stainless legal track record to this political trajectory, Ezeokenwa remains a beacon of hope for Nigerian youths.
“For us at the Council, we look up to him and his ilk for leadership and we trust that our younger people will learn from his personality and not just aspire towards greatness, but also showcase greatness when bestowed with leadership positions,” Obi maintained.
