The lawmaker representing Aguata 2 State Constituency in the 8th legislature of Anambra State and House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Health Hon. Tony Ifedilichukwu Muobike says the 8th assembly has surpassed the achievements of previous assemblies in just one year.

Muobike who spoke exclusively with this journalist in his office at the assembly complex Awka, noted that with the vibrant, focussed and result-oriented leadership of Rt.Hon. Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze, the 8th assembly has been able to pass 11 bills into law  in just one year and the laws, according to him, have been assented to by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Muobike said the 8 assembly is a composition of thorough-bred legislators who in the last one year have ensured quality representation of their various constituencies, vibrant lawmaking as well as diligently executed oversight duties through various committees of the House of Assembly.

The lawmaker told this journalist that the leadership of the House of Assembly has maintained a very cordial relations between the Legislature and the Executive arms government devoid of acrimony.

He said, " This 8th assembly is made up of very serious lawmakers. Each and everyone of us have done very well. We have participated so much in the business of lawmaking, oversight functions, constituency representations and what have you.

No one has been redundant. Infact, I can actually say that the 8th assembly has been an active assembly. '

Muobike also pointed out that the harmonious relationships amongst members of the 8th assembly have practically made it very impossible to determine if there are opposition political parties in the current legislature as all the legislators relate as one family irrespective of political affiliations.

He said that the principal objective of the 8th assembly was to support Executive arm by making sure that any executive bill that came to the House of Assembly received prompt attention, adding that they have done everything possible to ensure that there is synergy between the legislative and the executive arms of government.

According to him, in the chamber of the House of Assembly, no one talked about political parties instead they all see themselves as lawmakers and people who have come to render service to Ndi-Anambra.

The lawmaker who equally functions as the Deputy Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Information, assured the citizenry of increased quality representations as the 8th assembly continues to make laws that would aid the actualisation of a liveable, loveable and prosperous homeland for all and sundry.
