..Calls For Robust Drive For Funds, Transparency, Accountability
The Solution Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Chief Sir Stanley Nkwoka (Ochendo Idemili), has charged the staff Finance Department staff to embark on robust financial drive, even as he admonished them to be transparent and accountable in their dealings.
The result-oriented Council Boss who bemoaned the lean purse of LGA, wondered why a Local Government as big as Idemili North would not be boasting of hundreds of millions generated internally in its confers, urging them to go all out for drive, saying that with the staff population the Council would be making enough money.
Chief Nkwoka asked all those issuing all manner of Council's receipts to hand it over to the internal auditor for proper auditing, sighting and vetting. He instructed them to desist from issuing any receipt until the end of the auditing, saying that every receipt must be signed by the Internal auditor, warning the staff to adhere strictly to the directive.
For his part, the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Engr. Emeka Achukwu corroborated the Chairman's stance and enjoined them to carry out the instructions and work assiduously towards improving the finances of the LGA.
