Benue PDP Crisis: Ex-Gov Ortom Urges Supporters to Cease Hostilities

In light of the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, former Governor Samuel Ortom has urged his supporters to lay down their differences.

Recent clashes have occurred between Ortom’s supporters and those backing Senator Gabriel Suswam over control of the party’s structure, leading to factional splits and multiple suspensions within the party.

In a statement released on Monday by his spokesman, Terver Akase, Ortom called on all PDP members to prioritize peace and unity. He acknowledged that political disagreements are common and can enhance democratic processes and party discourse.

Ortom emphasized his long-standing friendship and mutual respect with Senator Suswam, asserting that they are committed to resolving any political conflicts amicably. He urged all stakeholders to stay focused on the PDP’s collective goals and aspirations.
