The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has rejected social media claims suggesting that the Local Government Council elections, set for October 5, 2024, have been postponed.
RSIEC Chairman, Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, asserted that these claims are false and without merit.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Enebeli clarified that he has not issued any statements about postponing the elections and urged the public to ignore the misinformation.
He affirmed that the election timetable remains unchanged, with the election date of October 5, 2024, still in effect.
