U.S. Election: 105-Year-Old Nigerian Veteran Politician Endorses Kamala Harris

A 105-year-old veteran politician and activist, Nonye Ezeayaeche, has endorsed Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s incumbent Vice President, for the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

The U.S. election is set for November 5.

Ezeayaeche, who was the oldest presidential candidate in Nigeria's 2023 general elections representing the African Action Congress, announced her endorsement at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

She praised Harris for her education, experience, and support from millions of women and youths, asserting that Harris’s candidacy is backed by exceptional qualities.

“I am confident that Kamala Harris will win the election and become the 47th President of the United States. Her victory is assured,” Ezeayaeche stated.

She expressed her belief that Harris will be a unifying force and a corruption-free leader who will enhance America’s economy.

Describing herself as “the great, great, great grandma of Africa,” Ezeayaeche emphasized that her endorsement is based on merit rather than her past affiliation with the Democratic Party.

“I believe Kamala Harris will advance global peace, progress, and justice, and address economic issues effectively. Americans should prepare for her inauguration, as she is destined to be a transformative leader and a great president for America,” she added.
