WASSCE REACTS TO RESULTS DELAY

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has attributed the delay in releasing the exam results of students in Ogun state to a technical problem.

Ayobami Suberu, the Branch Controller of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for Ogun State, has disputed claims that the withholding of results for some public school students in the state was due to financial arrears. In a statement on Tuesday, Suberu clarified that the issue was caused by a technical glitch rather than any indebtedness by the Ogun State Government. He labeled the report as "mischievous and unbalanced," noting that the state government owes WAEC nothing.

Suberu also indicated that the results of 1,685,889 candidates, which represent 93.9 percent of those tested, were released on Monday. He assured that efforts are underway to resolve the technical issues and that the affected results would be made available by the end of Tuesday.
