Building Collapse: Anambra Govt Suspends all Building Permits, initiates Revalidation Exercise

 


Worried by the incessant collapse of buildings and attendant loss of lives, the Anambra State Government on Wednesday unveiled series of directives targeted to mitigate the negative occurrence and engender sanity in the state’s building and approval processes.

The directives were announced by the Executive Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, ANSPPB, Barr Chike Maduekwe, during a press conference at the ANSPPB headquarters in Awka, Anambra State Capital.

STAKEHOLDERS UNITE AGAINST TB SPREAD IN ANAMBRA

 


Critical stakeholders in the health sector in Anambra State have resolved to work together towards reducing the burden of tuberculosis in the area.  

While Nigeria ranks number six in the world and number one in Africa, with every local government having TB cases, Anambra has the highest burden of TB drug resistance cases and childhood TB contribution in the South-East and the country at large.

ASATU Prime Minister Donates One Million Naira To SSG

Prime Minister of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) Amb. Dr. John Metchie has donated a whooping sum of N1 Million to Soludo Support Group (SSG) to support activities of the group. 

Making the donation at the " YOU NEED TO KNOW" as well as unveiling of SSG new uniform held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre Awka at the weekend, Metchie who was the Chairman of the occasion underscored the importance of support groups and the pivotal roles they played in preaching the gospel of good governance in the hinterlands as clearly exemplified in the activities of Soludo Support Group (SSG).

Geometric Power Mourns Iwuanyanwu, Calls Him A Staunch Supporter

Geometric Power Ltd, Nigeria’s leading electric power integrated group, has described the death yesterday in Abuja of a foremost elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel C. Iwuanyanwu, as unexpected and shocking.

“He was one of our staunchest supporters”, the company said today in a statement quoting its founder and chairman, Professor Bart Nnaji, as saying.
