As the world marks the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, Dr. Isoken Ibie has sent a heartfelt message, calling for greater attention to the education and well-being of girls. In her statement, Dr. Ibie emphasized the importance of education, urging governments to make schooling accessible to all girls. She praised the Ministry of Women Affairs for its efforts in rescuing vulnerable children, especially girls, and called on political women to unite in building a better country for future generations.

Gov. Peter Mbah says Nigerian Army dedication to service remains instrumental to reduction in incidents of insecurity to lives and property in Enugu State.

Mbah, represented by his Deputy, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, said this on Friday during the inauguration of renovated one storey with 10 blocks of classroom having a brand new computer hall, library and seats and desks at Community Secondary School, Mbu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

EEDC embarks on massive disconnection of indebted electricity customers in S/East

 

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) says it will be embarking on massive disconnection of indebted electricity customers in South-East.

EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Emeka Ezeh, on Friday in a statement, advised customers to promptly pay their electricity bills before the disconnection team gets to their premises.

Rangers Foundation inaugurates 4-man committee on Street Soccer League

 


The Rangers International Football Club Foundation has inaugurated a four-man committee to nurture football enthusiasts to coordinate its Street Soccer League in the Neighbourhoods.

Inaugurating the committee in Enugu on Monday, the Chairman of the Foundation, Coach Ebere Amaraizu, said  the League would be a catch-them-young programme that promotes resilience among youths within neighbourhoods.

NEMA tasks stakeholders on technological-driven improvement on disaster mapping, response

 


The Director-General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs Zubaida Umar, has tasked stakeholders and customers in emergency management on technological-driven improvement on disaster mapping and response.

Umar, represented by the acting Zonal Coordinator NEMA South-East, Mrs Ngozi Echeazu, said this during a Stakeholders Meeting at NEMA office in Enugu as part of activities to mark the commemoration of NEMA’s Customer Service Week.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has pledged to render continuous excellent and innovative electricity services to its esteemed customers especially the residents of South-East.

Replicate Ekwulobia Flyover Project in Nnewi Region, Ex-Banker, Eusebius Onyemelukwe urges Soludo


Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been urged to consider constructing such infrastructure as the Ekwulobia Flyover in Nnewi, to help boost the commerce and industry potential of the commercial town.

A former Banker, Chief Eusebius Onyemelukwe made the call on Sunday after he paid a visit to the project, to have an on-the-spot assessment of the bridge.

Albert Speer was Hitler’s minister for war production and armaments. He probably was the only officer in the Nazi government who defied Hitler and lived. He was also among the very few who did not commit suicide and were given fairly short prison term at the trial in Nuremberg.   

Obi Donates ₦120 Million at Holy Rosary Sisters’ Centenary for Education and Health Outreach



Mr Peter Obi today worshipped with the students of Holy Rosary College in Nsugbe, marking a significant occasion as the Holy Rosary Sisters celebrate 100 years since their foundation by Bishop Joseph Shanahan in 1924. The college at Nsugbe is also celebrating its 10th anniversary. It will be recalled that Obi laid the institution’s foundation in 2013. The event forms part of a series of activities commemorating the centenary of the religious order, renowned for its commitment to education and healthcare apostolates.
