In fulfillment to his promises to the State's executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the leading aspirant in the forthcoming All Progressive Congress APC gubernatorial primary for the November 8th, governorship election in Anambra State, Prof Obiora Okonkwo (Dikeora) on Thursday, 7th February 2025, donated an SP 15 Mikano Generator, 6 pieces of Polystar Air Conditioner Inverter, 4 Industrial Standing Fans, Gigantic Public Address System and also redeemed his 20 million naira pledge to the party.
Presenting the valuable office appliances to the party's leadership in Anambra State at APC's Secretariat, opposite Anambra Government House Awka, a member of Professor Obiora Okonkwo (Dikeora) Political Family, Chief Obiora Williams (Ichie Ajilija Mgbakwu) who spoke on before of the Chairman/CEO of United Nigeria Airline, said the gesture was in fulfillment to the pledge made by their benefactor to equip the party’s new state secretariat in Awka with the office items, comprises SP I5 Mikano generating set, 6 Polystar Air Conditioner, a public address system and 4 industrial fans ahead of the guber election.
According to him, during a recent facility tour of the secretariat, Prof. Okonkwo, accompanied by APC State Chairman, Sir Basil Ejidike, and members of the State Working Committee, assessed the infrastructural needs of the party’s headquarters Upon noting urgent requirements, he pledged to provide essential facilities to boost efficiency.
'Today, that promise has been fulfilled.
'In addition, Prof. Okonkwo has also redeemed his ₦20 million (twenty million Naira). He pledged to fund party projects and operational costs, it will further strengthen the APC’s capacity in Anambra State.
'This is a demonstration of Prof Okonkwo's commitment and loyalty to the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) in Nigeria and should be allowed to fly the party ticket in the guber contest, Williams pledged.
In his brief acceptance speech, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike, commended Obiora Okonkwo for keeping to his words by redeeming the pledges he made to the party, even as he urged other well-to-do party faithful to emulate Okonkwo's kindheartedness in order to move the party in the state to the next level.
