There was palpable anger in southern Kaduna after a group led by the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Dr. Ephraim Goje, and another, led by Alh. Ahmadu Suleiman, Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, agreed to a ‘ceasefire’ between the people of southern Kaduna and Fulani herdsmen residents.
The ‘deal’ was brokered by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Michael Zuokumor, the Chairman, Peace and Security Committee raised by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), in Kaduna on Tuesday.
The visit of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode to President Goodluck Jonathan, has been the top speculation all over the media, many people have reacted. Even though till now, All Progressive Congress party has not said anything on the Muslim/Muslim Ticket allegation passed on the party, some individuals have expressed the view both on Muslim/Muslim Ticket and FFk’s visit to presidential villa.
Here is one of the views of people on the issue:
One sunny afternoon I received a call from a senior colleaque who happens to be a friend like a brother, Ojomu Taiwo, he was like; “Lanre, do you know that Femi Fani-Kayode had a meeting with Jonathan at Aso Villa” and I was like “Are you serious? Thank God”. I then told him many like FFK are in APC and they’ll leave APC as times goes on, to me that of Femi Fani-Kayode is good riddance to bad rubbish.
The plot to dump Vice President Namadi Sambo as running mate to President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of next year’s election is far from being over, according to indications last night. The plot to dump C ahead of next year’s election is far from being over, according to indications last night.
The new plot is the Innovation of some political heavyweights from the North who believe that for the PDP to make the desired impact in that part of the country in the election, it must have a presidential running mate that is widely acceptable and politically savvy across the region.
Namadi Sambo, in their view, is too far removed from the realities of the politics of the region and therefore incapable of either addressing the issues or galvanising support for Jonathan ahead of the 2015 election.
Ace-comedian, Atuyota Akporobomeriere, a.k.a Ali Baba, shares the story of his eight-year-old marriage to his wife, Mary. He has always testified that marriage has brought him happiness, and fulfillment. Their marriage is blessed with six children, including an adopted daughter.
What marriage has done to me
Marriage has been good. It’s a stablising factor, it helps one to plan properly. It also redefines your responsibility pattern. When you are a young man, you don’t have the kind of responsibility you should have as a man. For instance, if somebody says ‘let’s go partying in Ghana,’ you are ready to storm Ghana without anything holding you back.
But when you get married, you will no longer take that kind of decision on your own. It means that a lot of things you do will now have to be shared with your partner. Marriage also helps you not only to reorganise youself in respect of how you want to live your life, but, more importantly, how you spend the money that you make in your business. Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has warned Nigerians to beware of being pushed to the point where adherents of religious faiths would engage in a war, stressing that the outcome of it may be very devastating for the country.
Speaking yesterday in Osogbo at a press conference to herald a three-day colloquium organized by the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, CBCIU, in collaboration with Osun State Government, which begins tomorrow, Soyinka noted that activities in recent past in the country pointed to the fact that religious war was looming.
Tagged, ‘All Comers Colloquium’, under the theme: ‘Fundamental Imperatives of Cohabitation: Faith and Secularism’, the event is expected to bring Christians, Muslims and traditionalists to discuss ways of preventing religious war in the country.
Soyinka, who is the Chairman, Board of Directors of CBCIU, represented by a member of the Board, Prof. Wale Adeniran, stated that with Nigeria surviving a civil war, the next war the nation may fight is religious war.

Creator of the Yoruba Movie Awards, Tunde Oshinibosi, shares his big dreams for the entertainment industry with Ashiwaju.org.
The large turn-out of popular Yoruba acts such as, Fathia Balogun, Hafiz Oyetoro akaSaka, Odunlade Adekola and Mercy Aigbe and many others, no doubt, added colour to the second edition of the Yoruba Movie Awards event held in Ibadan, Oyo State, over the weekend.
But, unknown to many, including the stars present at the occasion, the glamorous ceremony almost existed only in the imagination of the initiator, seasoned Nigerian showbiz promoter, Tunde Oshinibosi, aka Laface.
This was as a result of the near-insurmountable challenges that trailed the planning process. Reliving his experience during the build-up to the awards, Laface said his efforts were nearly marred by bureaucracy.
“The major challenge I encountered was funding. It was so alarming and heart breaking experience for me. We had to beg for sponsorship, I had to sell my property (an uncompleted building) at a give-away price of N30m to fund the awards event. We spoke to the government and it took a lot of talking back and forth. I don’t know why we have to sell Yoruba content to a Yoruba speaking state.
Popular comedian, Klint da Drunk, speaks on the controversies currently surrounding his career,
Two things appear to be currently happening to the career of ace Nigerian comedian, Afamefuna Igwemba, popularly known as Klint da Drunk.
At a time when many comedians are flaunting jet-set lifestyles and living large, the funny man whose unique style of comedy earned him the affection of many Nigerians appears somewhat quiet. Little wonder, some of his fans felt if he had silently left the scene.
Secondly, a recent scandal involving the comedian and an Abuja-based church that had contracted him to perform in one of its programmes became an issue after he was accused of failing to show up.
In the face of it all, Klint remains calm and unfazed. He however says, “Everything that was written about the incident is false and yes there was a show that was held that I didn’t show up at all.”
The entertainer, who earned acclaim after performing at the 2000 edition of Opa William’s Nite of a Thousand Laffs in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, admits he was invited to perform at a church programme by one-time Nollywood actor-turned pastor, Larry Koldsweat. He says it was scheduled to take place on March 23, 2014.
Of course, I love shopping. I love everything about shopping. I love window-shopping and the proper shopping.
How often do you shop then?
I shop very often. There is always somewhere to go and I must shop for that event because you would need outfit to wear for that particular occasion. In short, I shop regularly, almost weekly.
Do you bother going with a list of items to buy?
Sometimes. But other times, I just go window- shopping and I end up buying one item or the other. I usually have something in mind when I go shopping anyway. There is no particular item I must buy any time I shop.
