An Indian-origin entrepreneur has escaped jail in the US despite being caught on camera beating his girlfriend 117 times in 30 minutes, reports Huffington Post. RadiumOne CEO Gurbaksh Chahal has been sentenced to three years' probation, 52 weeks in a domestic violence training programme and 25 hours of community service.
In a series of tweets, Chahal has called the allegations against him false. "I maintain my innocence regarding these exaggerated allegations. I got cornered to accept a misdemeanor plea with a $500 fine to resolve the matter and move on with my life."
Chahal, once named one of America's "most eligible bachelors", was arrested last August when his girlfriend called 911 and reported domestic violence. She reportedly told police officers that she was unable to breathe and Chahal told her four times, "I'm going to kill you."
As Nigeria battles the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, the Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, has said that he had revealed the sponsors of the sect to President Goodluck Jonathan. Former Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Commassie, on Thursday, challenged the President to name the sponsors of Boko Haram based on the security report with Federal Government. This is Game of Thrones re-imagined as an Indian TV soap, stamped with all the hallmarks of an Ekta Kapoor serial - the punctuated close-ups, the cheesy music, the dramatic flashback, the exaggerated expressions.
Sinhasan Ke Khiladi (genius name) features the execution of Eddard Stark, played by British star Sean Bean, from season one of Game of Thrones. Only this time, the melodrama is supplied by Ayush Arora, editor of this gem, clearly headed for internet fame.
Like every good Balaji episode, Sinhasan Ke Khiladi also ends a heartbeat short of the moment the events were building upto. See The Movie Here.
Our digestive system has trouble with chocolate, which is why it may be good for us.
In recent years, large-scale epidemiological studies have found that people whose diets include dark chocolate have a lower risk of heart disease than those whose diets do not. Other research has shown that chocolate includes flavonols, natural substances that can reduce the risk of disease. But it hasn't been clear how these flavonols could be affecting the human body, especially the heart. New findings from Virginia Tech and Louisiana State University, however, suggest an odd explanation for chocolate's goodness: It improves health largely by being indigestible.
A woman was rescued from the gutter this morning around Abalti Barracks, Ojuelegba,Lagos. Eyewitness said that she was crying for help from inside a filthy gutter until a kindhearted passerby and welder rescued her. The cemented gutter was broken in order to rescue her. When she was interrogated by the Soldiers, she said in tears “My name is Amudat Jimoh, It was God that sent me here. He said I should confess my sins so that I don’t die, please I need water to drink, help me.I don’t know how I found myself here, please help me.” However, some people said she was a witch flying at night until she got stuck into the gutter. A passerby who preferred to remain anonymous said “how can someone get stuck inside this enclosed gutter? it must be a punishment from God to expose her”. She has been for medical attention.

Baby Molly wasn't impressed by the airy bubbles her mother blew to amuse her until Bennie the dog joined in the fun.
Bennie leaping around popping the bubbles turned out to be the funniest thing not-quite-10-months-old Molly had ever seen in her short life.
Tail wagging, Bennie waits expectantly for the next rush of bubbles. Gurgling and giggling in equal parts, so does little Molly.
We dare you not to fall over laughing just like Molly does. And we guarantee this video of baby, dog and 'Hysterical Bubbles' will make you more than a little bit wistful, nostalgic about those long-gone days when all it took to make the sun shine brighter was a bottle of soap water and a plastic ring that created a rainbow-tinted cloud of happiness, a fragile joy.
