INSURGENCY: Expose Sponsors Of Boko Haram – Northern Governors cry out to FG

The chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and governor of Niger State, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has said that it was uncharitable to blame northern governors for the insurgence, even as he asked why the government was reluctant to reveal the sponsors of Boko Haram.

Aliyu, who spoke yesterday in Minna at a federal and state security administrators’ meeting, said the statement credited to the minister of information, Labaran Maku, that the northern governors were not doing enough to curb the insurgency was unfair.

FG Set To Withdraw Soldiers Attach to Politicians

The Federal Government may have taken a decision to henceforth stop soldiers and other personnel of the Armed Forces from being used as escorts to political office holders in the country.

A security source in the Presidency said that the Federal Government would no longer allow soldiers to be in the entourage of governors, members of the National Assembly and others.

The source said that the men of the Armed Forces could only be used for the purpose for which they were recruited.

2nd Mutiny In Maimalari Barracks: Soldiers Mal-Handle New Commander

Brigadier General M.Y. Ibrahim, the newly posted General Officer Commanding the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army located at Maimalari Barracks, Maiduguri got a taste of soldiers’ fury on Thursday afternoon as angry soldiers stormed his office to demand that he pay their allowances and reinstate motorbikes to transport them and members of their families within the barrack.
Several sources in the barracks told SaharaReporters that the soldiers’ second act of mutiny in two weeks began around 3:00 p.m. (Nigerian time). The angry soldiers blew a whistle, and most of the rank and file gathered at a spot before they marched en masse to the 7th Division headquarters building where the GOC’s office is located.

Woman That Turns To Bird In Lagos:”She Is Our Mother”–Two Men

In the densely populated Ajegunle area of Lagos, an old woman allegedly transformed from a bird into a human being yesterday has been claimed by two men who identified themselves as children of the old woman.

They went to Area ‘B’ Command, Apapa, to effect her release, declaring that their mother is not a witch.

                 CHIBOK GIRLS: US DEPLOYS 80 SOLDIERS TO CHAD

THE United States has deployed 80 military personnel to Chad, to help regional efforts to rescue more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria, President Barack Obama said on Wednesday.
“These personnel will support the operation of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft for missions over northern Nigeria and the surrounding area,” Obama said in a letter to Congress.
This came as Boko Haram, in the early hours of Wednesday, attacked Alagarno village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, killing 48 people and carted away food items after setting ablaze almost all the houses in the village.
