APC raises alarm over arrest, intimidation of members in Gombe
The All Progressives Congress (APC)
has alerted the nation to the systematic arrest, harassment and intimidation of
its members and supporters in Gombe by the PDP-led government in the state and
its police collaborators.
In a statement issued in Lagos on
Friday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the
party said the clampdown on the APC in Gombe is similar to what obtains in
Bayelsa state, over which the party had cause to raise the alarm on May 14th,
and is sure to extend to other states as the 2015 general elections approach,
because of the desperation and anti-democratic credentials of the PDP.
Two pupils, three others burnt to death
About five persons including two pupils were
yesterday roasted to death when two fuel tankers collided at Asejire area on
Ibadan-Ife expressway which caught fire instantly.
Six other persons sustained varied
degrees of injuries and are now receiving treatment in the hospital.
One of the dead pupils was said to be
waiting for a bus along the road when the raging inferno consumed him.

Murder in Dubai: Aisha Falode cries for justice

Confederation of Africa Football, CAF, Aisha Folade, following the gruesome
murder of her 19 year-old son , Oluwadamilola Oloruntoba, in far away Dubai,
the United Arab Emirates,UAE three months ago.
The late Toba , as he was popularly
called, was said to have left London where he was with his sister, for Dubai ,
after he gained admission to study Audio Production at the SAE
Institute,sometime in October, 2013.

Nigerian-born musician “D’banj”, has
been listed as one of the world music stars to perform at the 2014 World Music
Awards (WMA) ceremony.
The award, which is the 22nd edition,
