The
nursery school teacher, Mr. Olayinka Oluwadare Folarin, who allegedly defiled
three under aged pupils in a toilet, yesterday, said it was one of the girls
that made advances at him. Folarin, aged 38,
who claimed his illicit romance with the minors was a demonic attack which had
been affecting him for a long time, said: “One of them made advances at me. You
know how children play with you in a funny way. This thing is beyond me.”
Middle Belt
Consensus Forum, MBCF, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to remain focused
and stop pandering to the dictates of the purported “core North”, saying that
it was clear that they were not ready to support him.
Former Secretary to
the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmad, said yesterday that the
Federal Government should grant general amnesty to the members of the Boko
Haram sect if they meet the conditions that gave rise to pardoning Niger Delta
militants in 2009. Ahmad, however,
expressed doubts whe-ther the sect members would ever come out and establish
real contacts with the government with a view to facilitating genuine dialogue.
President and
founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, on Sunday, in
Ota, Ogun State, said God had revealed the mystery of the Boko Haram since
1990s, noting that it has no political connotation, but purely an Islamic war,
trying to destabilise this country through killing of pastors and burning of
churches. “Tell me, how many
mosques and Muslim clerics had they burnt and killed so far?” He asked.
President Goodluck Jonathan has
become “very uncomfortable” with Anyim over reports that he built a 297-bed
hotel within two years of becoming SGF, TheCable was told. Anyim was appointed
in 2011. “Anyim’s relationship with the president is no longer what it used to
be,” a top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said. An associate of
Anyim has, however, said the allegation is baseless because “nothing has been
traced” to the former senate president. He said the hotel allegation has been
flying around for a while.
Founder, Living
Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, in this interview with
talks about the church and sundry issues You preach as if
you have committed the entire Bible to your memory. How many times have you
read the Bible?
Federal Government yesterday launched
the State Employment and Expenditure for Results SEEFOR project worth about
$350 million.
The pilot project is to be financed
by credit of $200 million by the World Bank and has attracted additional
financial support of about {80 million from the European Union, EU.
It was an unusually bold utterance
from a traditional ruler on the political direction of the state.Speaking at
the launch of a book written on the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship
aspirant, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode penultimate Thursday, the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan
Akiolu said the elders in Lagos State had met and endorsed the immediate past
Accountant-General of the state as the next governor of the state.
The All Progressives Congress (APC)
has alerted the nation to the systematic arrest, harassment and intimidation of
its members and supporters in Gombe by the PDP-led government in the state and
its police collaborators.
In a statement issued in Lagos on
Friday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the
party said the clampdown on the APC in Gombe is similar to what obtains in
Bayelsa state, over which the party had cause to raise the alarm on May 14th,
and is sure to extend to other states as the 2015 general elections approach,
because of the desperation and anti-democratic credentials of the PDP.
