The attack, which took place on Monday afternoon, occurred just opposite the Ekiti State Government House.

A military source has confirmed that the Boko Haram Islamist sect in Yobe State killed over 10 soldiers, including several civilians, on Monday. Yobe State is believed to be the ‘second hub’ of Boko Haram where they are noted for being seen and moving about openly, even in broad daylight. Nigeria’s ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo has met with people close to Boko Haram in an attempt to broker the release of more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls, a source close to the talks told AFP.
