Senator
Abdullahi Adamu was the governor of Nasarawa State from 1999-2007, and a
former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of
Trustees. He says contrary to the denials, President Goodluck Jonathan
did sign an agreement to run for only one term as president in 2010. He
also speaks on the challenges the All Progressives Congress (APC) is
facing from the PDP in Nasarawa State and his relations with Information
Minister, Labaran Maku. Excerpts: You did say recently that you
were present at the meeting where President Goodluck Jonathan agreed to
serve for only one term in 2010, can you tell us more?
The former Governor of Anambra State,
Mr. Peter Obi, CON has congratulated Mr. Ayo Fayose on his victory at
the Ekiti State Gubernatorial election conducted over the weekend.
According to Obi, “the victory of Mr. Ayo Fayose is yet another
testimony that democracy is taking roots in our country. The people
have spoken; the preferred candidate has won.”

Soldiers attached to the venue of

of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal and held him
hostage for a few minutes, insisting on searching his official car
before he was allowed entrance into the venue of the conference.
The Speaker, who arrived the venue of the conference at 9.16 am ahead
of other VIPs, was stopped from gaining immediate access into the hotel
premises by the soldiers even when the seal of his office was
conspicuous.

THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose has been declared winner of Saturday's election in the state.
Fayose polled 203,090 votes to defeat the incumbent Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 120, 433 votes.
Anambra State House of assembly has charged local government
authorities in the state to come up with innovative programmes that would improve their Revenue Generation system.
The House committee on tenders board gave the advice while
on oversight exercise to Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state,stating that over dependence on Federal and State
Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has condemned the stopping of some
governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from attending a
campaign rally in Ekiti State describing it as an act of war. At a
press conference in Lagos, Saturday, Mr. Soyinka urged the affected
governors to seek redress in court, noting that it was a violation of
their human rights.
Former Governor Niyi Adebayo of Ekiti State on Saturday lost his Elera
Compound Unit 003 polling booth to the candidate of the Labour Party,
Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele.
At the polling unit, the All Progressives Congress scored 36 votes, while the LP had 61, and the Peoples Democratic Party, 15.
