Breaking News: Spanish priest who contracted Ebola in Liberia dies
A Spanish missionary who contracted the Ebola virus while working in West Africa has died in hospital in Madrid. More than 1,000 people have died in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria since the outbreak was first reported in February.Miguel Pajares, 75, was airlifted back to Spain from Liberia last week with a nun who tested negative for the virus. For the past few days he had been treated with an untested, experimental drug, Zmapp.

Ebola Scare: Two Feared Dead, 20 Others Hospitalised Over Excessive Salt Consumption
At least two persons have been feared killed and 20 others hospitalised in various hospitals in Plateau State after consuming excessive quantity of salt and bitter kola to prevent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) attack.

The Director-General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Mike Omeri, has said the agency recruited 5,000 personnel to boost its “Do the Right Thing Campaign’’. Omeri spoke in Abuja when he led a delegation from the agency on a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olajumoke Akinjide recently. He said the recruitment, aimed at propagating the campaign of the agency, covered the six geo-political zones in the country.
Borno State Governor, Shettima Dissolves Cabinet

dissolved his cabinet. The decision came at 6:30pm today, Friday August
8, 2014.
The
decision was announced by the Secretary to the State Government,
Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda. This will be the first dissolution of
cabinet since the Governor assumed office in 2011.

West Africa: S-Arabia Suspends Hajj Visas for West Africa
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia yesterday suspended pilgrimage visas from West African countries following the death of a patient in Jeddah who was suspected to be infected with Ebola Virus Disease after he went on a business trip to Sierra Leone. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Saudi authorities confirmed the infection after tests were conducted on samples from the victim which were certified EVD symptoms of "viral hemorrhagic fever". The Saudi Health Ministry also stated that it was working to trace the man travel's route and identify those he had contact with.
US to return $480million Abacha's loot to Nigeria
The U.S has taken control of $480million which is part of money stolen by former military dictator General Sani Abacha, after a court ruling in D.C on Wednesday August 6th.
