LAGOS RESIDENT DOCTORS PROTEST SACKING

Members of the Lagos State chapter, Nigerian Medical Association, staged a protest at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi- Araba, on Monday.
They were protesting the sacking of 16, 000 resident doctors in the country by the Federal Government.

Following last week’s altercations between Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, at the annual new yam festival (Iri ji Mbaise) of Mbaise community, the state government has demanded an apology from Ihedioha, who was also the chief host of the event and the entire Mbaise nation, over what government described as ‘unprovoked verbal attacks’ on the governor.

CRIPPLE ATTEMPTS TO BOMB LAGOS AIRPORT

TRAGEDY was, on Monday, averted at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, when a suspected Boko Haram member was arrested while attempting to detonate an explosive at the Centrex unit of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), at the international wing of the airport.
According to information gathered, the suspect was able to gain access under the guise that he was a physically-challenged, which truly he is.
Security men of the agency, sensing his unusual movement while trying to press an object, got him apprehended, upon which he was caught with an explosive detonator.
The airport police command was promptly alerted, while the suspected bomber was handed over to them.

Nigerian pastorpruener David Oyedepo has been barred from entering the UK by the British Home Office following  the commencement of investigations into his affairs by the UK Charities Commission.   Bishop Oyedepo, popularly known as Papa by his followers, has been under investigation by the Charities Commission since 2012.  The fornmer Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi has debunked the allegation that led his resignation as the Board of Trustee Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party (APGA)  with the hope to join the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and described it baseless and unfounded.
He said he still remain a member of the APGA family and would continue to supporting the party and also stand on the side to promote the cause of the Igbo at all time.
