He made the allegation at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Monday. The occasion was the 2014 anniversary of the International Day of Students.

Two disparate groups have separately approached the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague, Netherlands, seeking prosecution of government officials and key individuals accused of aiding and abetting the activities of the deadly Boko Haram insurrection in Nigeria. The Northern Consensus Movement (NCM), a coalition of community based organisations in northern Nigeria, and the Human and Environmental Development Agenda are praying the ICC to bring all sponsors and accomplices in the Boko Haram carnage to book.
Abia State government has said that it would ensure the early release of the Nation newspaper correspondent in Umuahia, Mr. Ugochukwu Ugorji Eke, who was abducted by hoodlums at his Ogbor Hill, Aba residence at about 7.30 pm on Sunday.
Briefing newsmen at the Government House on the matter, the Commissioner for Petroleum and alternate Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Don Ubani wondered why Mr.Ugorji-Eke will be the target of the kidnapping being merely a journalist who does not constitute a threat to anyone and of the middle class.

It is remarkable that in the course of the recent bashing of the All Progressives Grand Alliance by some defecting, notable members of the party and other sundry detractors, Anambra State Governor and by extension, leader of the party, Chief Willie Obiano, largely stood aloof from the fray. It seemed the case that Obiano chose not to utter a word over the altercations in recognition of the need to play the statesman and diffuse the gathering tension. With the benefit of hindsight however, there can be little doubt that aside from prudence, and the business of delivering good governance, the Governor was rather preoccupied with how to grow the party and take it to higher levels. As the foremost public office holder elected on the ticket of the party, it naturally devolved on him to take the lead in harnessing the potentials of the organization. This resolve to assume the historic responsibility of fulfilling the mission of APGA is evident in certain occurrences in the party. The recent declaration for the party by the immediate past Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr Alex Otti is a significant development.
Following the impeachment notice purportedly going around and already signed by 11 members of the Anambra state House of Assembly to impeach the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano , for not granting the House members automatic return ticket to the House, a former parliamentarian and National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sylva Nwobu-Alor has warned the lawmakers to shun mischief.
Chief Nwobu-Alor speaking to newsmen shortly after the courtesy visit of a Governorship Aspirant of APGA in Kaduna state , Polycarp Danladi Gankon (DN) said the attitude of threatening to impeach the Governor for trivial issues of return ticket if it was true is most unfortunate.
