Mrs. Obiano advocates for effective reforms to end violence against women

The wife of the Anambra State governor Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has advocated the adoption of drastic measures and institution of reforms to bring about an end to the spate of human rights violation, and violence against women and girls.

CBN devalues Naira, now N168 to dollar

The Central Bank of Nigeria, yesterday, devalued the national currency, the Naira, as it moved the midpoint of the official window of the foreign exchange market from N155 to N168 to the one US Dollar. This means that the Naira will exchange between N168 and N174 to the dollar at the foreign exchange market. Official devaluation of the naira became inevitable as a result of reduction in government revenue from oil production and sales. The devaluation will increase the volume of Naira available to the federation account and to various levels of government to prosecute their local programmes.

NASS list 50 impeachable offences against Jonathan

Indications emerged yesterday that members of the House of Representatives are on the same page with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was reliably gathered that the assemblymen would start impeachment process against the President immediately it reconvenes next Wednesday.
This is just as the lawmakers coordinating the impeachment process have disclosed that they have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice.

Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka was a beneficiary to the philanthropy of Chief Dr. Emma Bishop Okonkwo (OFR) through his foundation, Emma Bishop Okonkwo Foundation on November 14, 2014. The closed door presentation ceremony was chaired by the Chairman of the institution's Board of Management, Chief Dr. Dozie Ikedife (Ikenga Nnewi) and hosted by the Chief Medical Director of the Institution, Dr Lawrence Ikeakor. The presentation was made by Professor O.O Mbonu, one of the directors of the foundation, who also doubles as part of ASUTH's management board.
