D’banj dismisses debt rumour scandal

Self-acclaimed ‘Koko Master’ and businessman, Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’Banj, who recently bagged a multi millionaire endorsement deal with international company, has rubbished recent allegations that he is in a multiple debt mess.The multiple award-winning entertainer, who also plays the harmonica, took to his Twitter page to react to the allegations.Since last weekend, there have been reports alleging the singer of being indebted to a company. He was accused of owning the outfit several millions of Naira.

Boko Haram: Senate holds closed-door meeting with service chiefs

The Senate on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with the service chiefs for about eight hours over the insurgency situation in the north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

Those in attendance were Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah; and the Director of the Department of State Service, Mr. Ekpeyong Ita.

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will never produce a governor in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

CBN devalues Naira, now N168 to dollar

The Central Bank of Nigeria, yesterday, devalued the national currency, the Naira, as it moved the midpoint of the official window of the foreign exchange market from N155 to N168 to the one US Dollar. This means that the Naira will exchange between N168 and N174 to the dollar at the foreign exchange market. Official devaluation of the naira became inevitable as a result of reduction in government revenue from oil production and sales. The devaluation will increase the volume of Naira available to the federation account and to various levels of government to prosecute their local programmes.

NASS list 50 impeachable offences against Jonathan

Indications emerged yesterday that members of the House of Representatives are on the same page with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was reliably gathered that the assemblymen would start impeachment process against the President immediately it reconvenes next Wednesday.
This is just as the lawmakers coordinating the impeachment process have disclosed that they have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice.
