Isaac Ibikunle, President of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has dismissed stories that President Goodluck Jonathan was stoned and booed during his last visit to the university.

The most popular and internationally renown Igbo gospel artist, Mrs Chinyere Udoma,, was recently a beneficiary of the universally recognized EMINENT PEACE AMBASSADOR appointment. She, alongside about a dozen others were selected amongst more than 700 people who were considered for the exalted award/appointment.
Interacting with the press just after receiving the award plaque and tag that goes with it, the visibly ecstatic Chinyere Udoma, who was accompanied by her supportive husband, expressed her profound gratitude to the Almighty for counting her worthy of such recognition. She attributed the honor to the grace of God and to providence saying it was just as a result of the fact that it was her time and not any special personal attributed of hers.

This year's November 28 was not like the others as a beloved son of Nibo, Architect Chukwudi Nwonu pulled the who's who in different fields of play to his house to celebrate his 50th year as an earth citizen. Professors, oculists, Catholic priests, Managers of schools and banks, veteran journalists were among the designations that coloured the event. Neighbours and Niboans were well represented too as whole families were spotted approaching the gentleman to give him congratulatory messages, speak health and long life into his life and hand in envelopes of goodwill, most of which he rejected with a grin of appreciation. 'Why would I take from someone who deserves rather to be given', he says.
