APC Announces Second Raid Of Party's Data Centre, Calls Measure Lawless, Provocative

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described a second raid on its data center in Ikeja, Lagos by the Department of State Services (DSS) as the height of lawlessness and an orchestrated provocation.
"The raid by over 40 armed DSS officers, despite a court order restraining the service from such action, shows that the DSS considers itself to be above the laws of the land, and this is totally condemnable," the party said in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Imposition of Candidates From Presidency May Mar Anambra PDP Chances in 2015 General Election

A political time bomb is rapidly ticking away in Anambra State as President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, have moved to unilaterally choose the party’s candidates for three senatorial seats as well as the House of Representatives.

Andy Uba, Patience Faka Jonathan, President Goodluck Jonathan, Stella Oduah and Uche Ekwunide
In a series of interviews with newsmen, numerous members of the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party complained that Mr. Jonathan and his wife seemed bent to impose their favorite candidates for all the federal legislative seats available in the state. Some of the disaffected members warned that Mr. Jonathan and his wife would ruin the party’s electoral chances in the state by imposing questionable candidates, including Honourable Uche Ekwunife who recently defected from the All Peoples Grand Alliance (APGA) to the PDP. Our sources accused Mrs. Jonathan of ordering oil magnate, Arthur Eze, to adopt the controversial Mrs. Ekwunife as the PDP’s candidate in the Anambra Central zone, the most populous senatorial district in the state.

Chris Dares His Brother Andy Uba on November 7th PDP Senatorial Primaries

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Anambra State, Chief Chris Uba, yesterday gave reasons why he decided to replace his elder brother, Andy, in the Senate next year, saying his sibling is too elitist for contemporary politics.
Information has its that Senator Ugochukwu Uba first went to the senate and later gave way for his brother , Andy Uba and now Chief Chris Uba is gearing for the senate to replace Andy. The senate is a family property and nobody dares them even when Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu won, Chris Uba showed him ‘muscle’ and his brother was sworn in. And their stooges are in most of the constituencies slots in the National Assembly and state House of Assembly. Will Chris Uba succeed?

Why our democracy is under threat

LAW Mefor’s recently published piece, “2015 AND ECHOES OF ANARCHY” is quite revealing. The piece captures the unguarded pronouncements of leading members of the major opposition political party in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress, APC, as preparations for the 2015 general elections gather momentum.
In it, the Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was quoted as saying at the Walk Rally of APC in Abuja recently that the party would form a parallel government should the outcome of the 2015 presidential election not favour it. Amaechi went as far as saying that his party would spearhead civil disobedience in the country if they lose the election.

Two explosions ripped through a market in the city of Maiduguri on Monday, witnesses said, nearly a week after two female suicide bombers attacked the same area, killing more than 45 people.

“A middle-aged woman approached the site where chicken sellers attend to customers but vigilantes who stood nearby insisted on checking the luggage she was carrying,” said witness Ahmad Sanusi.

“The woman refused, arguing that what she held were her wares. While the argument ensued, some people gathered at the scene and that was when she detonated the explosive,” he told AFP.
