Imo gov: PDP, INEC to appear in court over Ihedioha, Ararume

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Peoples Democratic Party to appear before it on December 19 to explain why the name of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume should not be submitted as the governorship candidate of the party for the 2015 general elections.
Araraume had through his counsel, Damien Dodo, SAN, prayed the court to restrain the PDP from forwarding the name of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chukwuemeka Ihedioha to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as its governorship candidate for the 2015 governorship election for Imo State.

Court summons PDP over Enugu gov primaries

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, Tuesday, gave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 24 hours to appear before it to adduce reason why the governorship primaries it conducted in Enugu State on December 8, 2014, should not be cancelled.
In a ruling, Justice Evoh Chukwu summoned both the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to appear before him on tomorrow to show why the outcome of the said primaries should not be voided.
The court order was sequel to an ex-parte application filed before it by a chieftain of the PDP in Enugu State and owner of Peace Mass Transit Ltd,  Samuel Maduka Onyishi.

2015 Elections: FG allays fears on Nigeria break- up

The Supervising Minister of Information Dr. Nurudeen Muhammad has allayed fears being expressed in some quarters that the 2015 general elections may lead to the possible break-up of Nigeria.

DSS NABS 7 IN BOTCHED NEGOTIATION WITH BOKO HARAM

Abuja – The Department of State Services (DSS), has vowed that it will serve justice to all those who sponsor or partake in the publication of subversive reports against the country.
Ms Marilyn Ogar, spokeswoman for the service, made the promise when she showed seven suspects to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
She said the suspects colluded with Steven Davis, an Australian, to negotiate with Boko Haram sect members.

SSS Clears Ihejirika And Sheriff, Arrests Seven 'Fraudulent' Associates Of Stephen Davis

According to recently released information from Nigeria's State Security Service (SSS), a number of associates of Australian hostage negotiator Stephen Davis are frauds, part of an alleged political plot engendered to "undermine and discredit" the anti-terrorism efforts of the Nigerian federal government.

Discrediting the Australian negotiator in a press release today, the service alleges that they have arrested seven affiliates of Davis': Junaid Idriss Khadi, Abubakar Yusuf (alias Baba Sani), Saleh Alhaji Ibrahim (alias Liman Ibrahim), Abudullahi Saleh (alias Babadale), Nurudeen Ibrahim, Mubarak Adamu (alias Molo), and Mustapha Maidugu (aka Musty/Small).

Strike: Fuel scarcity hits Abuja, Kwara, others

The nationwide strike by oil workers led to long fuel queues in the Federal Capital Territory,   Benue, Kwara and Plateau states as hundreds of motorists besieged the few filing stations that sold petrol on Monday.

In Lagos, the situation was normal until the evening when our correspondents noticed   queues in many stations in the city.

But the development slowed down commercial activities in the Federal Capital Territory where many commuters were stranded for hours at various   bus stops.

One of our correspondents visited some ministries and agencies and observed that their often crowded car parks   were virtually empty.

APGA Holds Special National Convention ON December 17th, 2014

As part of its strategy to build on recent gains in the form of increasing membership across the South East and parts of the country and the successful primaries in readiness for the next elections, ‎the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is set to hold its Special National Convention on December 17, 2014 in Awka, Anambra State. 

Information from the party office Awka, indicates that the Special Convention is expected to provide an opportunity to APGA and party faithful to fine-tune strategies for the elections‎ and assuage the feeling of some members who may have niggling complains on the outcome of some of the primaries, so as to enable APGA present a united front in the elections.
