On Sunday, December 14, 2014, Rtn Ifeanyi Aniagoh was declared the winner of the Presidential Election of Society for Peace and Mutual Coexistence (SPMC), an internationally recognized group of young volunteers who have vowed to feel, see and live peace.
FORMER Lagos State governor and a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu has confirmed his interest in the vice presidential ticket of the party. In a missive reacting to an alleged smear campaign against him on the matter, he said governance had little to do with religion, region or rumour but more with vision and competence. His reaction to reports objecting to his interest in the search for General Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate was packaged by his media team “Tinubu Media Office” (TMO). The main objection to his involvement in the race, according to the said reports, was founded on his same religion with Buhari, his alleged involvement in drug-trafficking and alleged tainted academic achievements.
FORMER Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He said the call became necessary following alleged recent revelations of fraudulent activities perpetrated during the tenure of the former President, whom he described as an anti- democrat.
Noting that President Goodluck Jonathan will emerge victorious despite the challenges being faced by his administration, Owie said that former President Obasanjo was the architect of the problems being suffered today by Nigerians due to his alleged misrule and failure to create jobs for the youths of the North and other parts of the country.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Peoples Democratic Party to appear before it on December 19 to explain why the name of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume should not be submitted as the governorship candidate of the party for the 2015 general elections.
Araraume had through his counsel, Damien Dodo, SAN, prayed the court to restrain the PDP from forwarding the name of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chukwuemeka Ihedioha to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as its governorship candidate for the 2015 governorship election for Imo State.
The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, Tuesday, gave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 24 hours to appear before it to adduce reason why the governorship primaries it conducted in Enugu State on December 8, 2014, should not be cancelled.
In a ruling, Justice Evoh Chukwu summoned both the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to appear before him on tomorrow to show why the outcome of the said primaries should not be voided.
The court order was sequel to an ex-parte application filed before it by a chieftain of the PDP in Enugu State and owner of Peace Mass Transit Ltd, Samuel Maduka Onyishi.
In life, some have it rosy while others have it rough. For good governments around the world, they strive hard to ensure most of their citizens get the best. They also try to make the gap between the rich and the poor very thin. But in Nigeria, it is the other way round. While the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. The standard of living of the avarage Nigerian citizen is far below the expected range.Top government officials and their cronies are milking the nation very dry and the government is virtually not doing anything to bring them to book.
An average citizen is left to do menial or imaginable JOBS to survive in the midst of plenty. Some nations don’t believe Nigeria is blessed with oil when the county is placed side by side with other oil producing countries.Out of excitement of grabbing the prestigious Next Rated Award at the just concluded 2014 Headies, Nigerian musician,
The Supervising Minister of Information Dr. Nurudeen Muhammad has allayed fears being expressed in some quarters that the 2015 general elections may lead to the possible break-up of Nigeria.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Today, this hour is a great moment not only in my life but as time surely will tell, history shall record that history was made this day in this small hall when an unknown man, an un-moneyed man, a man without a godfather from the hilly hamlet of Ozenyen in Ohordua, Esan North East, Edo State declared his intention to run for the highest office in the land. My name is Michael Omozokpia Oserieme Ovienmhada and I am running for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria.
In the book Antigone by Sophocles, the Greek author writes: No other touchstone can test the heart of man, the temper of his mind and spirit until he be tried in the practice of authority and rule. For my part, I have always held the view, and hold it still, that a King whose lips are sealed by fear and unwilling to seek advice is damned. And no less damned is he who puts a friend above his country; I have no good word for him. As God above is my witness who sees all, when I see any danger threatening my people, whatever it may be, I shall declare it. No man who is his country’s enemy shall call himself my friend. Of this I am sure. Our country is our life; only when she rides safely have we any friends at all.
