Man 31-year-old butchers father

Tragedy struck in Urum community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State yesterday morning. A 31-year-old man, Mr Chinedu Nwafor-Nnalue suddenly went berserk and butchered his 64-year-old father, Mr. Nwafor Nnalue to death. The man, it was gathered, had on many occasions threatened to kill his father before he finally cut him down while he was preparing to attend an elders’ meeting in the community. According to eyewitnesses, Chinedu, a father of three, had perfected his evil plans, enquiring  from his family members around when they would be going out for the day, apparently to enable him enough time to perpetrate the evil act. Unlike PDP’s abusive attack, APC replies Soludo with civility

The All Progressives Congress [APC], has reacted to criticisms by a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria [CBN] Charles Soludo, saying it would pursue massive job creation and inclusive development if it wins the February 14 poll.
This is unlike the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which insulted the former CBN boss for daring to question the basis on which President Goodluck Jonathan is seeking reelection.
Mr. Soludo had while evaluating the country’s economy under Mr. Jonathan, scored the administration an “F” on economic management, and suggested the Jonathan government is Nigeria’s worst in economic management.

A former Minister of Defence, Theophilus Danjuma, has demanded the immediate arrest of some former Niger Delta militants for threatening to plunge the country into war if President Goodluck Jonathan is not re-elected in the February 14 election.
He stated this on Wednesday in Kano during the commissioning of the multibillion naira Kwakwasiya city, one of the three mega cities built by the administration of Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari; Victor Ben Ebikabowei, aka, Boy Loaf; Government Ekpudomenowei, aka, Tompolo; and other militants had last Saturday vowed to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan, wins the February presidential election.

Labaran Maku hits back at David Mark, Ahmadu Ali, others

The governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has hit back at Senate President, David Mark, and a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Ahmadu Ali, for accusing him of betraying the party.
Mr. Maku, a former Minister of Information, formally joined APGA to contest the Nasarawa State governorship election, after losing to Yusuf Agabi in the PDP primaries in December last year.
Mr. Maku cited injustice and fraudulent processes in the primary as the reasons for his defection.
At the campaign flag-off of Mr. Agabi in Keffi last week, Mr. Mark accused Mr. Maku of ingratitude and betrayal for leaving PDP.
Similarly, on Tuesday, during the PDP presidential campaign in Lafia, Mr. Ali, Director-General of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, said Maku “will continue failing for the rest of his life” for leaving PDP which had helped groom him and make him deputy governor and minister “from nowhere.”

Mike Ahamba Dumps APC For PDP

A renowned legal luminary and lawyer to the All Pogressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari,  Chief Mike Ahamba has formally defected from APC, for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this known in a text made available to journalists in Owerri, Imo state capital, noted that his defection was based on a well thought decision to dump according To Him '' A sinking ship and join a more progressive movement, devoid of deceit with purposeful leadership quality''
He said he jumped ship because the party is riddled with so much dishonesty and lack of transparency .Ahamba  maintained that incumbent Governors were invited to the fold with the sole aim of securing their states funds for elections .

PDP laments destruction of Jonathan’s campaign billboards in Anambra

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has complained to the state government about a sustained vandalism, defacing and destruction of the campaign posters, billboards and other materials of its candidates, including those of President Goodluck Jonathan, in various parts of the State.
Leader of the PDP Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the presidential campaign council in the state, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, noted that the party had formally petitioned security agencies, including the police, the State Security Service (SSS), the army, the navy and the state governor, among others over the matter. Emeakayi emphasized that the party chose the path of honour, discipline and peace by severally restraining its members, who had been spoiling to react. He said this was because the PDP is a disciplined party with cherished codes and ethics. Governor Obiano Sacks Joe-Martin Over Allege Support Jonathan Cause

The Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Willie Obiano Monday  sacked his Special Assistant on Politics Matters, Barr. Joe- Martins Uzodike for alleged supporting Presidential Goodluck Ebele Jonathan cause against that of  the state and the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.

OBASANJO ATTACKS OYEDEPO OVER JONATHAN


Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday attacked the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, otherwise called Winners Chapel, Dr. David Oyedepo, over a com¬ment attributed to the cleric on Sunday that the gates of hell would be opened for those who failed to support the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.
