OBASANJO, SECURITY AGENCIES PLOTTING TO EXTRADITE ME TO US, KASHAMU CRIES

Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Senator-elect for the Ogun East Senatorial District, Alhaji Buruji Kashamu, has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of instigating foreign security agencies to apprehend him in Nigeria and extradite him to the United States of America, USA, to answer to drug related charges.
Consequently, he has sent a Save-My-Soul, SMS, letter to the Na...tional Human Rights Commission, NHRC, insisting that the subterranean plot to ‘capture’ him has thickened.
Kashamu begged the Commission not to stand by and watch his fundamental human rights trampled upon at the behest of former President Obasanjo.
It will be recalled that it was Kashamu that persuaded Justice Valentine Ashi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting at Apo to order security agencies in Nigeria to confiscate Obasanjo’s autobiography entitled “My Watch”.
It took the former President to get the high court to vacate that confiscation order which had even prohibited both Vendors and Libraries in the country from as much as touching the autobiography.
Kashamu had insisted that portions of the book dwelt on his alleged involvement in drug pushing and an allegation that he is a wanted fugitive in America, a subject matter he said had already been surrendered to a competent court of jurisdiction.
Meantime, in his petition to the NHRC, Kashamu urged the commission to investigate the alleged move to abduct him and forcibly take him to the US to answer to charges bothering on drug related offences.

APC REJECTS MAY 28 HANDOVER DATE

There are indications that the All Progressives Congress is uncomfortable with the May 28 handover date proposed by the out-going administration.
Investigation by Saturday PUNCHrevealed that the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan and the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) are set to clash over a proposal by the Jonathan team to hand over the mantle of leadership to Buhari on May the 28th, instead of the 29th.
Saturday PUNCH gathered that the Buhari team was already over what they considered as an act of ill-will laced with sinister motives.
This is sequel to an announcement by the Minister of Information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki, that President Jonathan would perform the handover ceremony at a dinner on May 28.
Akwashiki made the announcement after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting.
She told journalists, “By May 28, the President intends to have the formal handover done at a dinner so that we can reserve May 29 for the incoming government.”

2015 Election fund fraud Exposed: Jonathan demands for N2trillion election funds refund from PDP campaign managers

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday asked the party and government officials who handled campaign funds to refund monies not spent, or those not judiciously expended
Jonathan, credible sources said, has also set up a committee of five to get those with the funds to return them.
Sources within the party and government told our correspondents that President Jonathan was disturbed that despite giving campaign coordinators, ministers, special advisers, close aides and friends, support groups and traditional rulers over N2trn in cash, most of them could not deliver their polling booths and local governments.
The President was said to have been further irked by the results of an investigation he ordered. The probe showed that some coordinators used campaign funds to buy very expensive properties, especially in Abuja, and luxury cars. Some of the funds have also been traced to the bank accounts of senior party and government officials who were charged with the disbursement of funds to voters and groups.

S’AFRICA NOT DRIVING FOREIGNERS AWAY – ZUMA

President Jacob Zuma said on Saturday his country is not driving foreigners away after days of violence against foreigners in parts of the country.
“As government, we’re not saying to you go away. It is not every South African who is saying go away. It is a very small number of people who say so,” Zuma told a group of displaced foreigners at a camp in Chatsworth, Durban.
Zuma was visiting the camp, accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba and other government officials.
“We are firstly going to stop the violence then allow them to stay here. Even those who want to go home, they must know that when we have stopped the violence they are welcome to come back,” Zuma said.
But he said his government was ready help repatriate foreigners who want to go back to their home countries.
