I Do Not Know Anything About Boko Haram Inmates transfer To Anambra----Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, yesterday, said the transfer of Boko Haram prisoners to Ekwulobia prisons in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, was concluded in 2012 under former President Goodluck Jonathan administration.
The governor, who spoke through his Senior Special adviser on Political Matters, Mr. Chinedu Obidigwe, said the decision was taken during a seminar organized for officers and men of the Nigeria Prison Service, NPS, in which Ekwulobia and Kuje prisons in Anambra and Abuja capital territory respectively, were chosen as prisons for the Boko Haram inmates.
But former Governor Peter Obi, in a swift reaction, expressed shock about Governor Willie Obiano’s claims, describing it as a blatant lie.

PDP REJECTS BUHARI’S APPOINTMENT OF ZAKARI AS INEC ACTING CHAIRMAN

NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Wednesday rejected in totality the appointment of Hajia Amina Bala Zakari as acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC by President Muhammadu Buhari, alleging that the presidency plans to use her appointment to compromise the Election Tribunals in favour of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Addressing Journalists in Abuja yesterday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh stressed that with her appointment, the public no longer have confidence and trust in INEC, alleging that she was made the acting INEC Chairman because of her very strong relationship with the presidency and a governor from the North West who influenced the position for her.
According to Metuh, “The PDP is particularly disturbed by the development in INEC where President Buhari, who knew all along that the immediate-past INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega would be leaving office by June 30, had to wait for him to handover to one of the national commissioners only to reverse it immediately, thereby injecting bad blood in the commission.

REVEALED: “IN THREE YEARS, NNPC GENERATED N8.1 TRN, GAVE NIGERIA N4.3 TRN, POCKETED THE BALANCE”

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, generated about N8.1trillion between 2012 and May 2015, but paid only N4.3trillion to the federation account, Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, said Monday, citing new details from the federal economic council meeting.
The balance of the oil money — about N3.8trillion — was withheld and spent by the NNPC unilaterally without approval or National Assembly appropriation, the governor told journalists.
Also, the governor confirmed at the meeting that from November 2014, about $2.1billion was withdrawn from the excess crude account without the approval of the National Economic Council, NEC.
Mr. Oshiomhole, who, alongside the governors of Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and Zamfara governor, Abdulazeez Yari, briefed journalists, said following the discovery, the NEC has set up a four-member committee to comb the books of the NNPC to confirm its remittances and how the excess crude account was utilised.
President Muhammadu Buhari dissolved the board of the NNPC on Friday, to pave way for full investigation of the corporation.
Mr. Oshiomhole said Monday’s meeting was the first time the NNPC and the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, briefed the National Economic Council, as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Read Why APC Wants EKWEREMADU Removed

The battle for the control of the National Assembly may be long drawn as the leadership of the All Progressives Congress on Monday insisted on removing the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, of the minority Peoples Democratic Party.
Ashiwaju.org learnt on Monday that the ruling party  APC was still miffed that Ekweremadu emergence as the deputy senate president and had vowed never to allow “a senator from a minority party take over the duties statutorily assigned for the majority party.against the provision of the constitution and standing rule of the Nigerians Senate”
A leader of the APC, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Ashiwaju.org   that Ekweremadu as deputy senate president would hamper the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The APC leader said, “As deputy senate leader, Ekweremadu is automatically the Chairman, Senate Committee on Constitution Amendment. This is a sensitive position that, statutorily, should not be held by the minority.
“Ekweremadu and his PDP co-travellers will hamper the policies of the Buhari government. By the virtue of Senate rules, a member of the minority is not supposed to be the deputy senate leader; so, he is occupying the post illegally.
