He was victorious in all of the 43 legal battles he fought on behalf of APGA against external forces. He was again victorious in the internal political cum legal battles waged to dethrone him in 2013. And his first name is Victor. As he turns 53 on July 19, 2015, will he also be victorious in the ongoing trial of his case at the election petition tribunal? His was one of the most keenly awaited results of the April 2015 national assembly polls.  And not surprisingly, following widespread skepticism over the final result announced by the returning officer, public interest as once more converged on the Anambra Central Senatorial election matter at the tribunal.

The award winning Veteran Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie Commends Gov. Willie Obiano For His Strides In Re-positioning the Media and Entertainment Sectors In Anambra State.

He made the commendation when he paid the Governor a courtesy visit accompanied by the Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Uche Nworah. Chief Edochie lauded the governor for investing in digitization of the station in line with the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria demands.He extolled him for peoviding up-to-date broadcast equipment in the state  as well as introducing measures aimed at improving the picture clarity and reach of the radio and TV station.

Senator Ekwunife Urges Muslims To Pray For Peace & Unity of Nigeria In Sallah

The  Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Uche Ekwunife has called on Muslim community to use the period of Eld Filtri to cultivate peace and unity of Nigeria.

In her sallah message, Senator Ekwunife urged Muslims to use the solemnity of this celebration to peacefully co-exist with their Christian brothers and sisters to further deepen the peace process in the building of a virile country where  peace and unity are held sacrosanct.

President Buhari Sacks NIMASA DG, Patrick Akpobolokemi

As the era of hacking top political officers is raging, one would not be surprised with the sack of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Director General, Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi  who was recently relieved of his appointment by president Muhammadu Buhari

This was made public in a statement  made available to newsmen by the Special Adviser to President On Media and Publicity Mr Femi Adesina, Stated the termination of Mr. Akpobolokemi’s appointment would take effect immediate.

President Buhari Apporves The Appointment Of Gana As New Commandant-General For NSCDC

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu as the new Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, who was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC before his new appointment, hails from Muye in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.

He holds a B.Sc in Sociology from the University of Sokoto, and a Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

FINALLY: CAITLYN JENNER Receives ASHE Award

Despite the protests and petitions not to give Caitlyn Jenner the ASHE award, she went ahead and received it. 

The 65-year-old got tearful toward the end of her acceptance speech as she thanked her family, including her mother, sister and 10 adult children in the audience. Caitlyn initially planned to appear on stage with all 10 of her children and stepchildren, including the Kardashian sisters, but they instead showed their support from the audience.

BREAKING NEWS: Buhari Sacks Obi & Others

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dissolution of the Federal Governing Boards of Federal Parastatals, Agencies and Institutions with effect from Thursday, July 16, 2015, a Presidency statement said.
“Until the boards are reconstituted, Chief Executive Officers of the affected parastatals, agencies and institutions are to refer all matters requiring the attention of their boards to the President, through the Permanent Secretaries of their supervising ministries.

The board of the Security Exchange Commission that was recently inaugurated, which had the former Governor Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi as the Acting Board Chairman is affected by the president tsunami.  
“While the dissolution does not affect Federal Executive Bodies listed in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it covers administrative or technical committees and other similar organs established by the now dissolved boards,” the statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, said.

BUHARI APPOINTS TOLU OGUNLESI, SA NEW MEDIA

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Writer and Social Media expert, Tolu Ogunlesi, as his Special Assistant on New Media.
Mr. Ogunlesi who is one of Nigeria’s most active Twitter users was among they foremost youth who supported . Buhari’s election in the 2015 general elections.
Before his appointment, he was a freelance writer, contributing articles to various publications, mostly abroad. He also syndicated opinion articles in many Nigerian newspapers.
He won the CNN award again in 2013 in another category. He was also shortlisted for the inaugural PEN/Studzinski literary prize.
