President Buhari Represents New Awo For Nigeria's Liberation

The late Chief  Obafemi  Awolowo  and President Muhammadu  Buhari  might  have  lived at different times but, like identical twins,  possess   many things  in common-dynamism, pragmatism, integrity, self-  discipline, vision  and passion-to make Nigeria  work. The  impeccable past of these tested leaders has  proved that the bane of the country’s slow development since independence has been lack  of  purposeful  leadership.

Buhari-and-Awo Unlike the  reluctant  leaders  who  had been imposed  on  us,   Awolowo  and Buhari,  both armed with impeccable records of performance, the former as Premier of the old Western Region  as well as Vice Chairman  of the Federal Executive Council  in the regime of Gen.  Yakubu  Gowon,  and the latter, as a military Head of State, etc, adequately prepared for  the leadership of Nigeria. Three times  were each  unsuccessful- Awolowo  in 1959, 1979, 1983  and  President  Buhari  in 2003, 2007  and 20011.

CAMEROUN Indicts JONATHAN Of Aiding Spread Of Insurgency In Nigeria

The official visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Cameroun to discuss joint efforts to curb Boko Haram in the region has thrown up an indictment of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
A very credible Presidency source told Daily Sun that in the anti-terror war, Jonathan did not do much in forming a synergy with leaders of Nigeria’s neighbouring countries.
The source said during Buhari’s interaction with his Camerounian counterpart, Paul Biya, he disclosed that Jonathan isolated himself from the leaders of Cameroun, Chad and Niger. “The major complaint, according to Biya, is that Jonathan never or seldom, at best, picked his calls. He said most times he called, Jonathan neither picked nor returned his calls. And as a result, the integration of efforts that should have stopped Boko Haram’s foray and unchallenged run was lacking.”

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has explained that the sale of two of the nation’s oil oil refineries had been concluded before he exited office in 2007, saying his successor, the late Umaru Yar’Adua, reversed the sale due to “pressure”.
Obasanjo said this in his serialised interview with ‘Book Club’, a programme on Channels Television, monitored in Lagos on Wednesday.
The ex-President said business mogul, Aliko Dangote, leading a consortium of investors, had paid $750m for two of the refineries, as the Federal Government was finding it difficult managing the facilities at the time.
