Buhari Gives Service Chiefs 3 Months Ultimatum to Flush Out Boko Haram Insurgency From Nigerian-PHOTOS

                                                                      
The Nigerian President, Mr.  Muhammadu Buhari has issued a three months grace priod to Service Chiefs to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
He gave the directive while officially decorating newly appointed and cleared by the Senate service chiefs with their new ranks.
Those decorated are– Major-Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin (Chief of Defence Staff), Major-Gen. T.Y. Buratai (Chief of Army Staff), Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Chief of Naval Staff) and Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff).
President Buhari urged them to fashion out strategies to defeat the jihadists in next three months.

Fashole Clears Alleged N78 Million Website Rumour

 The former Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has finally broken the silence over alleged rumour making rounds , detailing how the Lagos State Government under his watch as Governor, spent the sum of N78 million for the upgrade of the website – www.tundefashola.com.
According to a budget report on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (LSPPA), the contract was awarded to Info Access Plus Limited.

 As part of effort put in place by concerned stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra State to harmonise the different factions of the party that historically antagonised one another to the delight of smaller parties may have run into a hitch.

The divisions have indeed become sharper as a group led by the party’s immediate past governorship candidate, Comrade Tony Nwoye has taken up arms against the mainstream led by the National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh. A third force led by Chief Chris Uba is standing by.

THE new faction led by Tony Nwoye surfaced last Thursday and has Prince Ossy Ezenwa as state chairman, while Chief Basil Ejidike is the state secretary.

Former Abia Governor Kalu, Gets NFF Endorsement To Contest FIFA Presidency Job

Former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu is set to emerge FIFA President if he gets the endorsement of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Kalu is in the news for the office of FIFA president which Sepp Blatter will vacate soon.

Former Wimbledon star John Fashanu is among those campaigning for Kalu to contest the election.

Kalu must first be endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation before he can vie for the seat.

But the federation must also consider section one of article 13 of the FIFA statutes on such election.

Kentucky Judge orders clerk to issue gay marriage licenses

As part of activities to institutionalise same sex marriage in America as being pronounced by a ruling of the the Supreme Court which would serve as judicial precedence, a federal judge  in Kentucky hasordered a county clerk  to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was one of a handful of local elected officials across the country that stopped issuing marriage licenses after the court's ruling in June. She said issuing a marriage license to a gay couple would violate her Christian beliefs and argued the U.S. Constitution protected her religious freedoms.

Borno Elder: Season of apologies

It came with great relief, reading the Press Statement by the Borno Elders Forum, demanding an apology from ex-President Goodluck Jonathan “over the death of Borno State residents” during the various Boko Haram attacks under his administration. I was relieved because the first thing that came to my mind was that finally, the war against Boko Haram was over. The bombings were over, there would be no more death of innocent residents of Borno State. The federal government had been able to either arrive at a ceasefire or perhaps, that the blood suckers have been totally subdued, and it is time for stocktaking.

Information reaching Ashiwaju.org disclsosed that an Helicopter Nigerian Airforce Training Helicopter on test training crashed in the third Mainland Lagos, Nigeria.
The accident which happened at about 11..45 am Wednesday revealed that the training pilot dogged to crash land on the third mainland bridged that recorded the highest vehicular movement in Lagos and preferred to nosedived into the Lagoon for safety crash.

Obiano doles out N10m Palliative to Ose-Okwodu Market Fire Victims

 

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has once again made good on a promise made before Ndi Anambra with the distribution of the sum of N10 million as palliatives to the victims of the Ose-Okwodu Market fire incident of April 2014. Speaking during the presentation of cheques to the Ninety-Seven beneficiaries at his Aguleri country home in Anambra East Local Area, governor Obiano said that the gesture was in keeping with his promise to Ndi Anambra to continue to pursue programmes that will impact positively on their lives.
