Former Nigerian president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has throne his weight behind the candidature of the Governor of Bayela State, Mr. Seriiki Dicson reelection bid for December governorship poll.
Jonathan begged his people to vote the governorship
candidate of the party, Seriaki Dickson to save his name and that of his wife
from being mocked by the opposition party.
He urged the electorates in his home state, Bayelsa to save his reputation from being
ridiculed in the forthcoming guber election in the state.
Efforts to perfect the ministerial list was finally sealed Wednesday when President Muhammadu Buahri had a three hour closed door meeting with the APC National leader, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former APC Acting Naional Chairman, Chief Bisis Akande.
Tinubu and Akande arrived the Aso
Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja at about 3.15pm. The meeting is taking place
inside the president's office. President Buhari is expected to
name his ministers any time this month.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday held another secret
meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Such meeting was
first held at official residence of the president earlier last month.
The
meeting which lasted for over an hour was also held behind closed doors in the
President’s office for over an hour.
Obasanjo who wore
a flowing white gown ( Agbada ) refused to speak with State House
Correspondents on his mission to the presidential villa despite all entreaties.
Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mr Musa Kimo, yesterday, said that he was anxious to see the release of kidnapped Vanguard columnist, Donu Kogbara.

The Anambra State
Judiciary Staff Union (JUSUN) has embarked on indefinite strike owing to the negligence
of the state government to implement the consolidate judicial workers

You are from the
South-South. Why have you come out to defend President Muhammadu Buhari’s
appointments which are largely in favour of the North?
I am not a
tribalist. If I was, I wouldn’t have campaigned for Buhari. I just wanted the
best for Nigeria. I agree that some of the best brains are from the South while
some of the best are from the North. We have brains everywhere. However, why
people are clamouring for these positions that have just been filled is that
people see them as juicy positions and this is my problem. About 95 per cent of
the positions are yet to be filled. Buhari has filled just about five per cent
of positions. For me, no government position is different from the other and
