Bayelsa govt. reveals real cause of Alamieyeseigha’s death
Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has said that the first civilian governor of the state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, died because he was harassed and forced to abandon his medical care abroad.
Mr. Alamieyeseigha died last Saturday at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt.
The state government said in an earlier statement that Mr. Alamieyeseigha died after a long battle with kidney disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Family sources had said that the former governor’s health suddenly deteriorated after the U.K. government requested his extradition to face charges years after Mr. Alamieyeseigha jumped bail and left London where he was arrested over alleged corruption.
The sources said Mr. Alamieyeseigha fled Dubai in the United Arab Emirate where he was receiving medical treatment, to avoid being arrested abroad.
President Buhari Submits Batch B Ministerial List
Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday sent the second list of ministerial nominees to Senate President Bukola Saraki. This is coming 12 days after the first list was sent to the lawmakers, who will begin screening of the nominees today.The second batch of nominees was submitted to the Senate President by the Chief of Staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, at 4.25pm.

The Department of State Service (DSS), on Monday, paraded two Fulani herdsmen who abducted a one-time Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, on his farm in Akure, Ondo State, last month just as the suspected abductors allegedly confessed to have received N5 million before releasing him.
The suspects, according to Mallam Abdullahi Garba who briefed the press
on behalf of the Service, are Abdullahi Usman (a.k.a Kadri) and
Babawuro Kato.
Obi shares 20 Million Naira to Schools
The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has shared 20 Million Naira to schools across the country.
Obi who disclosed that support to schools has become a passion for him, said that having witnessed the impact the support he gave to schools when he was the Governor of Anambra State yielded in the performances of Anambra schools, that he was encouraged to continue the gesture as part of his contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria. He said this last week as he moved from one school to the another donating 1 Million naira each to them.

over the turn of events. Exuding no geniality and completely void of her characteristic

TINUBU UNHAPPY WITH BUHARI’S NOMINEES’
The National leader of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is embittered with President Muhammadu Buhari over the ministerial list submitted to the Senate last week, Daily Trust gathered.
Tinubu is said to be unhappy with President Buhari for failing to consult him on the choice of nominees from the South-West.
A source close to Tinubu who spoke with Daily Trust Sunday said his sadness was predicated on the fact that the President had earlier promised to consult him before picking nominees from his zone.
“To Tinubu’s greatest surprise, he was only sent a copy of the list on the very day it was sent to the senate President”, the source said.
HOW ALAMIEYESEIGHA DIED – BAYELSA GOVT
“Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha died of complications arising from high blood pressure and diabetes which affected his kidney”, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Esueme-Dan Kikile , said in a text message to our correspondent on Sunday.
“He had chronic kidney disease which was aggravated by the sudden rise in his blood pressure and the long diabetes”, Kikile added.
Alamieyeseigha died on Saturday, October 10,2015, at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) in neighbouring Rivers State.
