Poor services induce slump in local production of Rice

Despite the huge investments of successive governments coupled with the current interventions of the Buhari administration, Nigeria still cannot meet the demands for local rice consumption, as poor services by government agencies have induced a noticeable decline in rice production, while importation and smuggling are on the increase.
Nigeria abandoned local rice production by focusing and spending billions of dollars importing foreign rice until it was hit by acute foreign exchange scarcity. This has given rise to the consumption of local products in the country.

NDLEA Solicits Residents Support on campaign against drugs

In the bid to rid the Anambra state of criminal activities and institutionalized the fight against illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria, the state commander of the National Drug LAw Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) Sule Momodu, has advised stakeholder  to provide relevant information that would lead to the arrest of suspected drug traffickers in the state.
He promised to make such information confidential which will lead to further arrest of notorious drug traffickers, who have made Anambra state their place of abode.

CBN Promises Support For Anambra Rice Farmers

The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved a review of the Agric loan facility for Anambra state to the tune of 5 Billion Naira as requested by the state governor, Willie Obiano to boost Mechanized Agriculture project in the state.
The apex bank scribe, Mr Godwin Emefiele disclosed this when he visited the state in the company of a high powered Federal Government delegation including the Minister of Agriculture and rural development, Mr Audu Ogbe, the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu and top CBN and Federal Agriculture Ministry Officials.

Awka residents Protest Over Non Installation of Electricity Transformers

FG Puts Up Two Presidential Jets For Sale, Asks Bidders To Quote In Dollars.

The federal government has advertised the sale of two aircraft in the presidential fleet and directed that the bids be quoted in US dollars.
A Falcon 7x and Hawker 4000 are the aircraft to be disposed, according to an advert placed in a national daily.
Interested buyers were asked to inspect the Falcon at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International, Airport, Abuja, and the Hawker at Cessna Zurich Citation Service Centre, Zurich, Switzerland.
