SOLUDO APPOINTS NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES BY STRICT MERIT*



Anambra State Governor, Prof.  Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has approved the appointments of new permanent secretaries across the civil service ministries in the state. 

In line with his reforms agenda to ensure transparency, accountability and optimal delivery of good governance to  Ndi Anambra, the new appointments were subjected to stringent due process and merit, not minding extraneous factors such as state of origin or any other affiliation.

Commissioner pledges support to sports talents, development in Enugu Custodial Centres

 


The Enugu State Government has pledged its support to sports activities and development within Custodial Centres in Enugu State.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ekweremadu, made the pledge after watching a novelty match played in his honour in the Football Pitch of Enugu Maximum Custodial Centre on Wednesday.

Ekweremadu, who was highly impressed by the talents displayed by the inmates during the match, noted that the state government through his ministry would see how best to harness the football and other sporting talents within the centre.

Lagbaja tasks senior commanders, leaders on innovative ideas, being catalyst for change


The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has tasked senior commanders and senior military leaders on innovative ideas and being a catalyst for change within the Nigerian Army.

Lagbaja gave the task on Tuesday in Enugu while declaring open the 2024 First Senior Command and Leadership Seminar being held in 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu.

NYSC urges corps members to integrate knowledge learnt during orientation course

 


The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, in Enugu State, Mrs Christiana Salmwang has urged corps members to integrate the knowledge they have acquired during their orientation course and put them into practice.

Salmwang gave the advice during the official closing ceremony of the three weeks Orientation Course for the 1,503 Corps Members registered for the service year at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Awgu near Enugu on Wednesday

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Anambra State Chapter led by its Chairman Comrade (Sir) Humphrey Emeka Nwafor, has joined the ongoing nationwide protest organised by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) against hardship , hunger and insecurity across the country.

  Addressing newsmen in Àwka shortly after the protester, Sir Nwafor said that they were protesting over the high level of economic hardship in the country.
