Indigenes of Amakor village in Nanka, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State have cried out over the devastating effect of erosion in their environment as a result of sand miners.
Leaders of the village under the aegis of Amakor Njikoka Development Union in a press release signed by its chairman and secretary, Mr. Ilo Obinna Daniel and Mr. Patrick Okole respectively and made available to journalists in Awka yesterday accused the traditional ruler and president general of Nanka community, Igwe Godwin Ezilo and Rev. Can. Ifeanyi Ezike of being behind the excavation of sand in the village.

Recall that officials of the Federal Capital Development Agency, acting on the orders of the FCT Minister, had on the 27th March 2024, invaded the project site with a detachment of over 300 security personnel including the Army, the Navy, the Police, and many others, and destroyed the properties.
The said property has the registration number: FCDA/DC/BP/ASD/29163 validly approved by the FCT authorities for development.

In a decisive move to end the resurgent cult-related killings in Awka, Capital City of Anambra State, the Anambra State Police Command has reiterated its avowed commitment to stamp out cultism and cultists completely from the state capital Awka.
