Igbo Leaders Pass Vote of No Confidence On Serving Commissioners of Police In The Zone
Prof. Ben Nwabueze-led Igbo Leaders of Thought yesterday in Enugu demanded the immediate change of the Commissioners of Police in the five states of the South-East. In a statement issued in Enugu and signed by the Deputy Secretary of the body, Evangelist Elliot Uko, the leaders expressed concern that all the Police Commissioners posted to the South-East are Hausa/Fulani.

Adamawa Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, sworn in as Acting Governor
The Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, has been sworn into office as the new Acting Governor following the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako and the resignation of his deputy.
Mr. Fintiri was sworn in by the President of the Customary Court in the State at the council chambers of Government House, Yola.

Breaking News: ASUP Suspends 10 month old strike
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, has suspended its 10-month old strike on Saturday 12 July.
The decision to suspend the strike, which began in October 2013, was reached after a National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the union held in Abuja.
