President Goodluck Jonathan, who last week bragged that he was a better leader than Olusegun Obasanjo and every Nigerian leader since independence, today sent a powerful delegation to the former president to plead support for his re-election bid.
Obasanjo had described Jonathan’s presidency as below “average,” and that the “head” [of the government] was “rotten.”
Obasanjo addressing the press with the 5 PDP governors that came to visit him on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan today
His delegation to Obasanjo’s Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta today included governors Liyel Imoke of Cross River State, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Babangida Aliyu of Niger and Isah Yuguda of Bauchi State.
When they emerged from a closed door meeting, Obasanjo told the media that they had only discussed the insecurity in the country.
Chijioke Ezenwanwe would pass as a footballer, a highlife musician, a seminarian or even a newly married man. But a close contact would display a deeper, richer version of this enigma of a business giant. He revealed he is an importer and distributor of heavy duty vehicles' brand new spare parts amongst other businesses. This second son of Chief Ezenwanwe in Agba village -Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State stated categorically that success in business depended on three things; contact, honesty and capital. 'Anyone can thrive well in any business if he has these three things' , he affirmed. And as he elaborately expresses his wide scope of contact, one would testify to the fact that he indeed practices what he preaches.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) State House of Assembly Primary elections held today have been adjudged as largely peaceful and transparent in most of the state constituencies across Anambra State.
This assessment was made by the Executive Director of Media Ethics and Rights Initiative, an Onitsha based responsible journalism advocacy group, Prince Ezekiel Amanambu, while speaking to newsman in Awka after monitoring the election in many Local Government Areas.
On Air Personality, Dayo Adeneye, popularly known as D1, lost the opportunity to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress for Odogbolu area of Ogun State to imposition and not to a more acceptable aspirant, reports available have shown.
An unpopular aspirant was said to have been imposed on others on Monday night.
Hence there was no primaries on Tuesday.
Sources told Ashiwaju.org that the decision to anoint one of the aspirants was taken at a meeting described as “nocturnal” on Monday night, leading to protest by others who felt shortchanged.
Results from the constituencies in the House of Assembly Primary elections of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which was held across Anambra State yesterday pointed to a near peaceful conduct of a political primaries as results begin to trickle-in from the field.
Though, reports from Ekwusigo, Ekwulobia and Aguata LG primaries does not reflect what seems to be a peaceful conduct of a transparent election, where hundreds of youths and aged were carrying placard in protest of what they tagged as imposition on candidates and presentation of a different delegate list against the supposed list for the election.
Some Party stakeholders buoyed to contest the result in court, knowing well that they were disenfranchised by the new delegate list and were not able to cast their vote for the aspirants of their choice.

THE Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee, for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-West, Buruji Kashamu, has carpeted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for berating President Goodluck Jonathan over security and economic challenges confronting the country. According to Kashamu, Obasanjo lacked the moral fibre to sermonize and pontificate on the issues of security and corruption in Nigeria, given that the former president’s legacies of “betrayal, delabilitating corruption, failed National Integrated Power project, decrepit infrastructure, bad governance and abuse of rule of law, among others, are everywhere.” Kashamu also said Obasanjo, who sees “himself as the ultimate kingmaker; the Alpha and Omega of Nigeria’s politics whose word was law,” was “simply playing the card of the opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC), where a handful of his associates had defected to.” According to him, Obasanjo was playing the role of an enemy within, while “pretending to be doing an honest assessment of the nation’s socio-economic issues. He is simply APC’s godfather.”
