Former Governor of
Anambra state, Peter Obi , has refuted claims by the state governor Willie
Obiano that the transfer of Boko Haram prisoners was concluded in 2012 during
the reign of former Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan and Obi as governor
of the state.
He expressed shock
about Obiano’s claims, describing it as a blatant lie.
Reacting to the claim
that Jonathan and Obi were behind the relocation of Boko Haram terrorists to
Anambra State, the media aide to Peter Obi, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, said he was
shocked that Governor Willie Obiano would personally sign such a release laying
claims to what appeared nauseating and childish.
Obienyem said that
such a claim would only end up proving to the people that there were more to
the relocation than they already knew.
Describing the claim
as a blatant lie, Obienyem wondered how an action or a plan concluded by a man
who left office almost 16 months ago was being implemented now.
The last has not been heard of Dapo Adaralegbe; the first
Nige¬rian transgender who was born a boy, but has now transformed into a lady
and now referred to as Stephanie Rose.
Dapo, who made history as the first Nigerian to transform
from male to female, recently released her latest photographs looking
completely fair in complexion. He was a law student at the Obafemi Awolowo
University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State until he was expelled in 2001 from the
school due to identity crisis.
After the sad experience, he relocated to Netherlands as
Dapo and later underwent surgery to change his gender from male to female.
Before he left the country, Dapo granted an interview in which he spoke
extensively about his life as a trans-sexu¬al, how he is a woman trapped in a
man’s body and his ordeal as a student of O.A.U.
He was quoted to have said the follow¬ing: “I was studying
Law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU), Ife. I am of the 1995 set, but I
had to leave school in 2001 because of pressures. People were too harsh on me;
they did not understand me at all.
President Muhammadu
Buhari has fired Abdulrahman Mani, his chief security officer (CSO), over what
insiders described as “shady deals” in fixing appointments and for
“undermining” the president. Presidency sources told Ashiwaju.org that Mani
committed various misdemeanor, “chief among which was a recent discovery that
he was actually the one who leaked Buhari’s itinerary to Diezani Alison-Madueke
when he travelled to London in May”. Alison-Madueke, former minister of petroleum
resources, had surprisingly traveled on the same British Airways flight with
Buhari, sitting in the same cabin and right behind the then president-elect.

The
attention of the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn
to the cover story of Vanguard and Daily Independent on Friday, July 3, 2015,
crediting him with some comments on the transfer of Boko Haram detainees to
Ekwulobia Prisons in Anambra State.
We
wish to inform the general public that Governor Obiano NEVER made any comments
to these publications. Since the eruption of this controversy, Governor
Obiano’s position has been consistent. This is fully reflected in the two Press
Statements issued on Sunday, June 28, 2015 and Wednesday July 1, 2015. In both
statements, his message was simple – he re-assured Ndi Anambra that he was on
top of the situation and that he was speaking with the relevant authorities to
achieve a peaceful resolution of the issue. Governor Obiano’s commitment to
this extremely sensitive issue remains the same.
Mr.
Akinwunmi Ambode the Governor of Lagos State, has directed his deputy, Dr. Mrs.
Oluranti Adebule to immediate rehabilitate and provide welfare assistance to
Mrs. Ruth Uche, the mother of three set of twins whose husband absconded from
their home in Agege, Lagos.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Thursday announced that he has directed his lawyers to sue The Union newspaper over a report by the paper that he declared owning N90billion and 40 mansions. “After a busy few weeks as governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is dismayed by the blatant falsehood being practised as journalism by The Union newspapers,” the governor’s spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement. “He has consequently directed his legal team to vigorously enforce his rights to protect his reputation from the vandalism of irresponsible hacks.” The statement added, “The Union chose to write a spurious story alleging N90b as his assets declaration without seeing the declaration made by Malam El Rufai. The circle of blackmail that did the story claimed they heard a rumour, and they pursued the rumour so vigorously they transformed it into news. “When some of their cohorts made contact with the governor’s media team insisting that they respond to rumour, they were told that it is better if they chose the more legitimate route of agitating for a public asset declaration.

Immediate past governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, was recently arrested by the Metropolitan Police in Britain and charged with battery after he allegedly beat up his wife, Yemisi in their luxury London home. The governor was however quick to deny on social media that he was at peace with his wife as no such incident occurred.
But according to reports, the Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Office booked Governor Suswam into its London detention center for several hours last week and a judge set a £5,000 bail bound for him before he was released. Police arrested the embattled Governor Suswam in his luxury London home after they received a distress 999 call from his wife Yemisi, the former first lady of Benue State.
Mrs Suswam was said to have told a dispatcher over the phone that she feared for her life after being physically assaulted by her husband over a heated argument relating to Suswam’s mistress (names withheld.) One family source told the police that Suswam hit Yemisi severally and inflicted injuries on her.
